Dying instantly, with a gun, Russian roulette style, I mean.

Alba, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, that was supposed to be a million euro. Like a dollar but a bit more.

Alba, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

Nope.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:24 (nineteen years ago)

But it might be fun!

Alba, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

what an odd definition of fun you are working with.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

If you were stutteringly offered swear words...

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

but yeah i'd do it, why not.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

I like being alive much more than I could ever like being moderately wealthy.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:28 (nineteen years ago)

why not

oh jeez i don't know... because YOU MIGHT DIE.

max, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

no way! i saw 13 tzameti.

lauren, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

Also: the kids and stuff.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

listen, dying might not be so bad either, how would i know? i'm ok with the odds here.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

I would probably say no, regret saying no, drive myself to succeed on account of this regret, and then not regret saying no any more on account of this success.

So, no it is!

unfished business, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

i would risk my life for #*$&$! BOXCAR! NO! NO!

ghost rider, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

ok you lost me there, louis.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

Normally I would, but right now I have too many responsibilities now to take a chance like that.

Nicole, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

Yo i'd be up for that. I'd do it twice!

Slumpman, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

I think I probably would, since I'm always talking about killimg myself anyway, and the money would solve a lot of immediate problems (which would make it easier to solve less immediate problems), so it's a win-win sort of thing. I'd want a guarntee that I would really die if there was a bullet, however, and not just end up a vegetable.

Rockist Scientist, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:52 (nineteen years ago)

I can offer you that guarantee.

Alba, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:55 (nineteen years ago)

But wait, there's more!...

nickalicious, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:57 (nineteen years ago)

For a limited time offer, you'll get the €1m AND the bullet AND the satisfaction of knowing what it's like to die PLUS we'll throw in, as our special gift to you, with no extra charge - a slightly incomprehensible L0u1s J4gg3r post! All this can be yours, if you only POST. RIGHT. NOW.

nickalicious, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:58 (nineteen years ago)

haha it doesn't work outside the thread title field either, apparently

nickalicious, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

ILX is so awesome.

nickalicious, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

wait, 10-1 odds against?

bernard snowy, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i'd do it.

jed_, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 23:02 (nineteen years ago)

Dude I want one of those revolvers.

nickalicious, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 23:03 (nineteen years ago)

10-1 against, yes.

Alba, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 23:29 (nineteen years ago)

Well, it's like Deal or No Deal isn't it? You're staking your life at odds of 1-10, so if you'd value it at much less than 900,000 (and I really really would value mine at much less*) then logically it's worth it... but if you lose then you've got nothing so mebbe just stick at 50 grand which isn't much but it's something -- either way you're shamed, by your cowardice or your greed. Probably best overall to stay away from people who play such games.

* My only references for life-valuing are reported fees paid for trafficked sex-workers, and celebrity body-part insurance; hence my low sense of self-worth.

Eyeball Kicks, Thursday, 1 March 2007 00:27 (nineteen years ago)

Deal or no deal would be amazing if one box had "bullet in your head" inside it.

Slumpman, Thursday, 1 March 2007 00:37 (nineteen years ago)

And a bunch of other lesser injuries eventually replacing all the blue boxes.
"The dealer offers you.... a slap in the face!" NO DEAL

Slumpman, Thursday, 1 March 2007 00:39 (nineteen years ago)

I'd be tempted by each way.

The odds are okay, but at 10-1 I'd probably want a bigger payout, and to study the recent form. Should the running be soft I'm disinclined, though I might take my living in a permed treble with having a kid as the banker and my sister to run the country within the next thirty years to throw the money out somewhat.

Matt, Thursday, 1 March 2007 00:44 (nineteen years ago)

Can I keep the gun as well if I win?

S-, Thursday, 1 March 2007 00:59 (nineteen years ago)

$2mn isn't really fuck-you money. I could easily lose that in one year of roulette and cocaine.

I'd need at least $50mn to risk it.

milo z, Thursday, 1 March 2007 01:00 (nineteen years ago)

Do I have to pay prize or gift taxes on the money?

nabisco, Thursday, 1 March 2007 01:25 (nineteen years ago)

I think I probably would, since I'm always talking about killimg myself anyway, and the money would solve a lot of immediate problems (which would make it easier to solve less immediate problems), so it's a win-win sort of thing. I'd want a guarntee that I would really die if there was a bullet, however, and not just end up a vegetable.

Absolutely OTM. It would be nice if the price was somewhat higher, though.

emil.y, Thursday, 1 March 2007 01:42 (nineteen years ago)

CAN I WAER A HALMET

404 Error: Page Not Found, Thursday, 1 March 2007 01:43 (nineteen years ago)

fuck euros.

g®▲Ðұ, Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:14 (nineteen years ago)

Good lord, children. Money isn't everything!

Beth Parker, Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:19 (nineteen years ago)

We're not just doing this for money.

Lonestar on Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:17 (16 seconds ago)

We're doing it for a SHIT LOAD of money!

Lonestar on Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:17 (10 seconds ago)

LOL

nickalicious, Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:30 (nineteen years ago)

I would probably do it if I had no family.

Hurting 2, Thursday, 1 March 2007 03:13 (nineteen years ago)

It's interesting that people want the money to go higher. I would have thought making the odds longer would be the obvious choice.for waverers.

Good lord, children. Money isn't everything!

I think people are just bored and don't value their lives very much. It's sad, yes.

Alba, Thursday, 1 March 2007 08:55 (nineteen years ago)

NO deal.
