Is there anything better than enjoying a nice glass, or bottle, of San Pellegrino sparkling water?

I love it so much..

Their orange drink is nice.

I don't understand, what makes it better than any other kind of sparkling water?

Actually I think sparkling water is mostly rub so maybe this is Not The Thread For Me.

Better: drinking Gerolsteiner Brunnen or Apollinaris.

sparkling mineral waters taste different due to different mineral amounts.

Heavens, it's schweppervescent! I truly love to have it with fresh organic vegetables and artisinal cheeses. Then I polish it all off with some scrumptious methamphetamines! Joy!!

I prefer Badoit. SP is owned by Nestle with whom I still have issues.

Nice mixer! (The KitchenAid one in that pic, although I guess you could mix drinks with sparkling water)

I'm half-consciously avoiding developing a taste for mineral water so I'm not tempted to up my restaurant bills.

i love fizzy water, mostly. i wasn't too fond of the georgian brand i got in brighton beach that was extremely salty.

OTM. Had this last week for the first time. Lovely stuff!

kv_nol, Monday, 5 March 2007 11:56 (eighteen years ago)

Badoit is my favourite too!

Mark C, Monday, 5 March 2007 11:57 (eighteen years ago)

Must try Badoit. And the San Pellegrino orange drink. As for sparkling water, I used to think "why do people drink this", until I tried it properly chilled. Now I love it.

Oh ffs. Prior to this, SP was my favourite drink. Now I'm going to have to find something else. Bugger.

I do also like Badoit, but (a) none of the supermarkets round me seem to sell it, and (b) it tastes a little too much of bicarb. But, this may have to be my choice from now on. Also, fwiw, I think that SP/Badoit are preferable to 'most anything else because they are naturally carbonated, and hence less fizzy than stuff that's just been pumped full of manufactured gas.

i love fizzy water, mostly because i just love the fizziness as I will totally drink club soda if it comes down to it.

Sparkling water is the BEST. Well as Ronan said, when it gets a bit warm it's not as nice, as I experienced yesterday while drinking a small bottle of it from the hippie grocery store.

I like San Pelligrino better than Perrier, but my favorite might go to Gerolsteiner, or this Russian brand I bought a while back, but couldn't make out the name.

Well put it this way, SP is the only water I've drunk and actually thought, 'Wow, this tastes great!' Normally I just think it tastes like water.

nothing is better than fizzy water in a glass filled to the rim with giant ice cubes. so refreshing! i actually like warm fizzy water just fine too.

f. hazel, Thursday, 8 March 2007 10:39 (eighteen years ago)

Chinotto rules!

For fizzy water though I really dig Vichy Catalan.

Ed, Thursday, 8 March 2007 10:43 (eighteen years ago)

Badoit is like the default fizzy water if you live in Bordeaux, FWIW

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 8 March 2007 11:03 (eighteen years ago)

I like Ty Nant, because the bottles are so nice.

I've been to San Pellegrino! It's weird - they have a big, old, crumbling spa hotel and a GIANT bottling plant and that's about it, iirc. Am mighty annoyed that it's Nestle. My favourite in France is Saint Yorre because it's like drinking sea water so it's kind of a test of fortitude every time you take a gulp.

vals (switzerland) has a great spa & a pretty big bottling plant (owned by coca-cola)
