Do you have to know you're on something to be addicted to it?

If someone started slipping me, I mean you, heroin every day and then stopped, and then you started going into withdrawal, how would you know what/how to get a fix?

What if the doses were really small? Or if they started small and got larger & more frequent?

you would know you were addicted once you started withdrawing. i guess you still wouldn't know what you were addicted to.

.. and so what would happen? I'm just thinking about how much is chemical vs how much is mental.

in the case of heroin the cold turkey would be pretty extreme whether you knew what it was or not. if it was nicotine or something i guess you would just feel ill for a few days without knowing why. i guess a lot of it is mental but the genuine physical craving is still there and, in the case of heroin, would still be debilitating.

Have wondered about this wrt ecstasy pills with smack or meth in, not for personal reasons though cos I haven't touched the stuff in ages.

Also supposedly some dealers are cutting skunk with meth now cos it's so addictive. That's according to some free London paper (forget which) and is probably bollocks.

surely the contrast bewteen weed & speed highs ^^ would be noticeable? and sort of jarring?

i wonder if you'd feel suddenly compelled to smoke or not?

Short answer to thread question: yes. Say you were in a coma, receiving a morphine drip for three weeks. You wouldn't even need to wake up from the coma to have developed a dependency on morphine and have symptoms of withdrawal, if they stopped it too quickly.

Wasn't there a chinese place that put meth or nicotine in with the MSG?

JW, Tuesday, 6 March 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

You know the cops just took the MSG for personal use.
