I had a lovely conversation with a broker today about travel books and dogs, in her morgue-like yet cheerful. The apartments she showed me were gorgeous and entirely out of my price range. She walked with a cane and is from Latvia. A new friend in what will soon be the old neighborhood.

Brokers are just legitimized mobsters who you have to pay off in order to simply rent an apartment. I feel like saying to these cunting brokers: look, i KNOW you're all con-artists and bloodsuckers, just DROP the ACT. I feel like such a tool for letting myself even like that woman.
