I'm going to have an unplanned long weekend, WHAT SHOULD I DO????

Too much annual leave, too little time, so I randomly have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow.

and another one the same next weekend.

How would you spend it? How should I spend it? I have no real commitments apart from Saturday afternoon I have to play a football tournament, in London.

Would you go for a DAY TRIP? Where would you go? One way ticket? Yeah? Would it take you really so long to find out?

At the moment my best plan involves staying home and tidy up the house. Or go 10-pin bowling all day.

I think ken c should ride a steam train and go to a country house.

Ed, Thursday, 8 March 2007 11:41 (eighteen years ago)

Go to France and buy cheese.

I'm having all of this week off. It is fantastic and I've got much useful stuff done including ripping loads and loads of CDs, downloading more old tat, making mixes in Acid although tomorrow is official Learn Ableton You Tool day (today is supposed to be Install Premier And Do Some Video Stuff day but not managed this yet), scanning in some pages I like from old issues of Muzik and some comics, recording a big chunk of my vinyl collection...just things I would never get round to doing otherwise. Not very exciting tho granted.

g-kit, Thursday, 8 March 2007 12:04 (eighteen years ago)

it's already too late kit! i've thought about it!

FRANCE! i've never been to france.. maybe!!!!! is it possible to ride a steam train to france and stay in a country house there, eating cheese? while downloading music onto CDs?

ken c, Thursday, 8 March 2007 12:15 (eighteen years ago)

Not a steam train, but it is slow and scenic...

braveclub, Thursday, 8 March 2007 12:35 (eighteen years ago)

Because of the parenting thread I read this as "I'm gonna have an unplanned parenting weekend, WHAT SHOULD I DO?" which made me think, the answer's in the question, innit?

that boat train thing looks fun!!!! potentially stupid waste of time, but i am v. tempted!

i don't know if i can sustain a 4-day-long wank! (ladies, i'm sorry so disappoint)

ken c, Thursday, 8 March 2007 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

Dude go and DO something, don't just sit around listening to CDs. Going to France is always a good idea. Drink wine, eat horse, look at pretty girls.

i don't know if i can sustain a 4-day-long wank!

I'm afraid that I don't know how to make the blue writing appear in this strange non HTML universe, so I'll bump up the thread instead!

braveclub, Friday, 9 March 2007 14:24 (eighteen years ago)

I have it on v good authority that they have the interweb in France.

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 9 March 2007 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

Not in fromageries.

braveclub, Friday, 9 March 2007 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

t**t, Friday, 9 March 2007 14:28 (eighteen years ago)

Guys you don't know you're made, you can go to FRANCE just for the day, motherfuckers. FRANCE. Best I could do in a day would be to go to Mildura and ride on a steamboat on the Murray or some rustic crap. FRANCE!

Trayce, Friday, 9 March 2007 22:51 (eighteen years ago)

i'm on spring break! i just did laundry, and in a couple hours my GYM BUDDY and i are going to the GYM! and then we might go see zodiac.

get bent, Friday, 9 March 2007 23:14 (eighteen years ago)

get high

tremendoid, Saturday, 10 March 2007 23:08 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce makes a convincing argument there. Now I'm beginning to regret every weekend I haven't gone to FRANCE. Which is virtually all of them, natch.

ledge, Saturday, 10 March 2007 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

ken, you could have come to paris!

RJG, Saturday, 10 March 2007 23:32 (eighteen years ago)

Please to regale us with tales of your weekend debauchery.
