Fof some reason (conspiracy?!) snubbed by its own promotion company upon release, but you can find it for rent on Netflix etc.. An amusing dystopian cautionary tale from Mike Judge.

anyone seen it? Thoughts?

Oh its been talked of already - well yes, it was a good film. Still, I don't think it could happen, is intelligence really so inhertiable?

Latham Green, Friday, 9 March 2007 03:04 (eighteen years ago)

Horrible.

milo z, Friday, 9 March 2007 04:38 (eighteen years ago)

but it's got electrolytes?

Yerac, Friday, 9 March 2007 05:20 (eighteen years ago)

good, but i feel like it could've been better without studio intervention. plus lots of people seem to think you're actually supposed to laugh at the "ASS" movie in a genuine sort of way. this seems to anger them.

It says on your chart you're fucked up, you talk like a fag, and your shit's all retarded.

King Boy Pato, Friday, 9 March 2007 13:02 (eighteen years ago)

Love this movie still and, after viewing it again, have been meaning to revive the ludicrous Sandbox thread where some ilxor accused Judge of loading the film with "mexican" stereotypes, because that's aboslutely fucking preposterous.

This movie made me hungry for big tubs of whatever the hell those big tubs were full of.

nickalicious, Friday, 9 March 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

this movie wasn't a turd, but not particularly memorable, either.

critiquing the entertainment industry's stranglehold on cultural and political discourse via a hollywood produced and distributed movie is kinda disingenuous.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 9 March 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)

sanskrit, this movie was hardly distributed at all, really

elmo argonaut, Friday, 9 March 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

this movie has a lot of good quotable bits but I still think the whole thing fails to hold up to much scrutiny on the basis of having all but two of the characters be rather unimaginative cardboard cutouts of the same WWE/NASCAR T-shirt dipshit stereotype. Mike Judge was probably listening to Radiohead when he came up with it.

The WANTED sign rules too:

* being a dick
* excaping from jail
* fucking up a bunch of shit

TOMBOT, Friday, 9 March 2007 16:07 (eighteen years ago)

you think maybe we could do it family style?

and what, Friday, 9 March 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

tombot otm -- there were some really funny lines and pieces, but it's just not a very good movie.

Why would Fox allow them to use their name, but not mess with their logo? What the cock is that?

I can't stop laughing at the "yeah! YEAH!" part where he stops running away to watch his own car blow up, then all the cops fire in celebration
