A bunch of us are going to be at THE ICE FACTORY (526 N. Ashland) tonight. My band is playing, and Eazy (who also posts on the Chicago thread) is opening for us. You should come. It's a loft space, so they'll have cheap beer/wine, and I think it's like 5 or 6 bucks to get in. Also not too far from Wicker Park, either.

You should go to the Neo-Futurists' theatre.

we ended up going to a bar called the gold star (i think, thats the name. 22oz fat tires) on division and then to bite/empty bottle for the akron family show. thanks for the invite, though. the guy i'm staying with played at the ice factory a few weeks ago, too... chicago seems small; i kept seeing the same people all day haha..

i guess today will be more wandering, and then tomorrow downtown and museums.. where else can we go? we spent all yesterday near damen and division (quimby's, myopic books, reckless)..

Whoa, poortheatre, you're in the same area I live in (near damen and division).
For a small, fairly quick but unique museum (god, I sound like a travel brochure), you might try the Intuit Museum, which showcases outsider art. It's free, and close to where you're staying.

ah, that looks cool, Z. unfortunately, it will be closed the rest of the days i'm here. today i went to the frank lloyd wright district and stumbled on (who knew?) hemingways birthplace. then to pilsen (?) but didn't find much but some good tamales. art institute tomorrow...

my messages sound like telegrams bc im typing on a french keyboard. must be very deliberate.
