in any case, NO. AVG is free and detects more threats than Norton or Mcafee. There are many fine online virus scans available as well. If you are using XP with all the latest patches, I doubt you need an always-on scanner.

one year passes...

Anyone having trouble running the live definitions update? It's been 9 days since my last update. When I try to manually run the live update, it comes up empty and not updated at all. Kinda stymied here.
