Have Your Say - the madness continues

This is from to-days 'discussion' on the swithover to digital...

I fully support the switchover but it should come at no cost at all to the elderly.

The sufficient funds would be available to help the elderly had not so much public money been wasted taking in and housing lazy asylum seekers who have a greedy appetite for hoovering up public funds, I guess they'll all be getting brand spanking new digi boxes.

Some things never change. An old anecdote of my mother's: an elderly woman overheard in my grandfather's shop, in 1971:

"I don't understand all this new money, and I don't see why they have to do it now - why can't they wait until us old people are all gone?"

But it's not only the bother, it's the cost. It's kind of an interesting debate. At this point in British media history, do people feel that television has become a kind of right, rather than a privilege? Or is it just old people complaining about the cost because they don't want to go to the bother of switching to something new? I wonder how old I will be when I start to feel this way? And also, I will have huge problems because I have no children to show me or force me into adopting the new technologies. My parents (who are only in their early 60s) have two Sky boxes in their house and wouldn't be without them, because we bought them for them and showed them how to use them. Who will do that for me?

The children you will be compelled to have, under forthcoming emergency Government legislation.

Those ungrateful little bastards! Ha! I'll be lucky if I see them at Christmas when I get my double benefits. And after all I will no doubt have done for them.

To-day they are discussing Comic Relief and changing dustbin collections - and guess what!

They 're against them...

Strangely (or not) I am in agreement on both counts.

"I am sure the House will join me in welcoming our new leader, Mr Timothy Westwood - his first parliamentary request is for all the independent lady MPs in the House to stand up and wave their ring fingers. If the ring is absent, the MPs in question must proceed immediately to our leader's crib, where he will decide which one is to be tonight's jump off."

Unfortunately Vauxhalls are made in the Midlands, which is absolutely nowhere near Scotland. Also, being a non exec director of a car company isn't half as attractive as being non exec director of a bank. Of course this corrupt Scottish govt won't help Vauxhall.

The left wing are desperate for us to be part of a federal Europe. For that to happen they need the UK to be unable to survive on it's own. No manufacturing industry; no agriculture industry; foreign owned energy supply; foreign owned water supply, pitifully small armed forces; no cultural/religous identity; politicised (heavily armed) police force & public dissent not tolerated. Labour's policies are not disjointed. They are very well thought out and designed to destroy the UK.
