just come down from Mount Olympus. Is that a nymph I see on that lily pad, looking pensive? I will approach her, disguised as a swan.....

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

Ned = Zeus
Kate Masonic = Hera

Frogman Henry, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:50 (eighteen years ago)

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:51 (eighteen years ago)

RJG, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:52 (eighteen years ago)

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:53 (eighteen years ago)

Frogman Henry, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:53 (eighteen years ago)

Frogman Henry, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:54 (eighteen years ago)

RJG, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:54 (eighteen years ago)

Oops, sorry, Cupid is Roman. Eros?

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:55 (eighteen years ago)

in swan form I approach the nymph, but wait! her attention is distracted by lyre music from the opposite bank. On a mossy hummock sits the lyre player i.e. Ed (Apollo).

Tombot = Ares the god of war.

Which makes Ally Aphrodite? Fits.

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

John Williams!!!

Eris

Eris is the daughter of Zeus and Hera. She is the goddess of discord. In addition to her main activity of sowing discord, she frequently accompanies her brother Aris to battles. On these occasions she rides his chariot and brings her son Strife.

Eris is unpopular and frequently snubbed as a guest by the other gods and mankind. This was not always a safe thing to do. The most dramatic example being the Trojan War, which was an indirect result of not inviting Eris to a wedding.

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 10:59 (eighteen years ago)

(And he's probably going to wreck the server and cause the Trojan War II for my mispelling his name)

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:01 (eighteen years ago)

It's cute that he's on yr mind tho.

g-kit, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:04 (eighteen years ago)

Momus = Momus

Who is ILX's chaste huntress i.e. Artemis?

anatol_merklich, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:24 (eighteen years ago)

i was obsessed with greek mythology between the ages of 6 and 8! i have difficulty picturing myself as eros though - i fit the look, but i'm awful at matchmaking.

lex pretend, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:24 (eighteen years ago)

Lex, I just imagined you stumbling around drunkenly with babyface and bow in hand, mischeiviously shooting people by accident, with hilarious consequences.

Who is Athena? She's quite one of my fave Goddesses. Beth Parker? Or is she a more agrarian goddess like Demeter?

Who will be my deformed but clever and fixingthings son, Hephaestus?

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:30 (eighteen years ago)

Isn't Ed's Dionysian side a bit too strong for him to be Apollo? Orpheus maybe?

Persephone = Trayce maybe? Queen of the Underworld ie sometime goth living down under?

anatol_merklich, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

OMG! A three headed dog!

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:38 (eighteen years ago)

Artemis could be Luna because she is goddess of the moon and so is Luna! The virgin thing is a bit problematic, but hey, Artemis is also goddess of childbirth so we're OK.

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:39 (eighteen years ago)

Laurel = Daphne, obv.

elmo argonaut, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

unfished business, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:42 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, going by last week's successful second venture into drag, Tiresias might not be such a bad option.

unfished business, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:43 (eighteen years ago)

elmo argonaut, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:45 (eighteen years ago)

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 11:48 (eighteen years ago)

Ed!

Matt DC, Friday, 16 March 2007 12:32 (eighteen years ago)

Elmo, that's very thoughtful but actually I've had my niche carved out for years already. AND APOLLO, YOU OVER-RATIONAL, PATRIARCHAL, REPRESSED MOTHERFUCKER, YOU MIGHT HAVE WON FOR NOW BUT YOU NEVER ME.

Signed with venom and hiss,
Pythia

Ned = Zeus

A vision.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 16 March 2007 14:05 (eighteen years ago)

I think Amalthea sounds quite nice - foster mother to Zeus, seems rather kind and nurturing etc - so I'll be her please. Even though she is depicted as a goat.

C J, Friday, 16 March 2007 14:21 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to be Harpocrates, god of silence, so when need arises I can command you people to STFU thx.

blueski, Friday, 16 March 2007 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

who's going to be Prometheus?

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 16 March 2007 15:04 (eighteen years ago)

Prometheus? .stet. brought us ILX2... or maybe Keith?

Masonic Boom, Friday, 16 March 2007 15:09 (eighteen years ago)

Stet can be Prometheus, whenever he decides bestows fiery MOD POWER to the lowly sub-board. (Also apt because he tends to get his liver torn out daily by us ingrates, doesn't he?)

elmo argonaut, Friday, 16 March 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

Who's got the biggest Christ complex (that isn't completely unmerited)?

Laurel, Friday, 16 March 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

elmo argonaut, Friday, 16 March 2007 15:13 (eighteen years ago)
