ILXorz who have been there, help me plan my trip!

Good, cheap places to stay?

Good places to buy records?

Things to avoid?

I need a personal touch. All the guides to this place seem to be aimed at the type of person who deboards the cruise ship and heads straight to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

I would avoid Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (I have never been to Jamaica, but JB's M looks like the seventh circle of hell)

When my dad was there last year him and my mom found some bar where the bartender made him a drink called "Route 66" which was funny to everyone because LOL that's on mainland North America.

apparently there are several cafes around Negril where you can order (magic) mushroom tea, legally of course. trip nards freely. i saw this on a Three Sheets with Zane Lamprey episode on my free Mojo HD channel. he seemed to like it a lot, anyway.

I'm staying next door to Errol Flynn's wife, or something, apparently.

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 28 March 2007 21:48 (eighteen years ago)

you can order (magic) mushroom tea, legally of course

And it tastes so good, too.

Michael White, Wednesday, 28 March 2007 21:49 (eighteen years ago)

i was taken to the mushroom tea shack by a friendly hustler named Master Blaster. A 8 year old boy came out of the back carrying a pepsi 2 liter bottle filled with black fluid. It didn't taste good and you had to keep drinking it to stay lit AND it gave me the shits something furious, but I did get to hallucinate the Lion of Judah inside a dark cave under the castle we were staying at. Rad times...

sexyDancer, Wednesday, 28 March 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)

three years pass...

heading that way tomorrow for a wedding party that will take place within the confines of one of those resort deals in Montego Bay. a subset of said party will likely want to peel off and do some exploring. anything anyone can add to this thread is much appreciated.

I would sort of suggest not peeling off to do some exploring.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 14 September 2010 14:27 (fifteen years ago)

ha yeah i was afraid of that
