Sainsbury's are still happy with him. A colleague wrote in to The Journal (highly exciting Sainsbury's Staff magazine) asking why they kept using him even though he was really annoying, and they replied that although there are people who are irritated by him, there are many more who wuv him. But, weren't the TV ads voted one of the most most annoying ads recently? Sainsbury's, are you misguided twats? Yes, I think you are.

AH buit Jamie Oliver ads are less annoying than John Cleese Sainsburys ads = a step up. Also not as annoying as Zoom-Zoom-Zoom.

Poor Jamie.

chris, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Is Jamie Oliver more or less annoying than that smug woman in the Somerfield ads?

RickyT, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

More as he almost ran over our flatmate but missed, ha ha. I am very glad I shop in Waitrose with their posh adverts. There is a war of words being waged in Metro's letters page about whether Jamie's new ad is racialist or not. I wuv Metro mentalists almost as much as interweb mentalists.

The smug woman in the Somerfield ads can bear my children.

erm... I'll be over here.

Graham, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Flaming Nora, Graham. Have you gorn quite mad?

RickyT, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Seems likely.

Graham, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Why can't I remember the John Cleese ads? Surely I would have enjoyed them. I am off to Tesco for my shopping. Sainsbury's can fuck off. I hope they don't read this. Is it possible to get sacked for treason? Is it treason?

alix, Monday, 18 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

yes, high street treason a-hahaha
