do you ever confuse different posters, because they seem quite similar?

inspired by nickd mixing up fred and josh, and, er, nickd mixing up myself and pete b. i sometimes confuse anthony easton and mike hanley (esp as both of you just started threads about yoselves!).

Actually, in reality, I do mix up people with similar sounding names. Kim and Kerry sometimes, because they sound alike. And are there two Maryannes or Marielas with different spellings? Funnily enough, I usually keep all the Marks straight. But Tims and Toms I find difficult.

In the very early days of my reading nylpm, I kind of had this josh/fred double-headed monster in my head, 'cause you were both smart American boys with weblogs and four letters in your names. You soon became individuated, but I somehow had a throwback on that thread. Talking of which, there are plenty of people left who haven't yet told us their name and daddy. Get to it.

Mitch Lastnamewitheld and j e l elide in my brain for some bizarre reason (as they live on different continents as far as I know). I think I tend to think of the boards in terms of small groupings - the ex-Sinister people, the ex-a.m.a. people, Team Groke, the a.f.momus people, so those rogue agents with no affiliation get mixed up, unless their posting style is super-idiosyncratic.

I used way back in a.m.a. days to get Sundar and Josh mixed up - I think it was Sundar anyway, but someone and Josh.
