Don't dare me to do it, because I'll do it! NEWSIES edition

My mang bet me I could not sing the whole Newsies soundtrack...hohoho, he should have known what he was getting himself into! That thing's running through my BLOOD. So of course I sang the whole thing (he opted for me not to acapella the overtures), not missing a single word. He really regretted making that dare!

Does anyone accept dares everyone later regrets, like the reverend who was dared if David Cross ate glass, rev. would become David Cross' SHLAVE? And then he had to do shlave things?

I am the ruler of accepting dares. I'll do a truth or dare throwdown anytime, anywhere, until everyone else wishes they hadn't! I think this means I may be annoying? I also love Newsies.

Where are my kindret spirits, oh internetentities?

Santa Fe, are you threre? Do you swear you won't forget me. If I found you would you let me come and stay. I ain't getting any younger but before my dying day, I want space, not just air. Let them laugh in my face I don't care. Save a place, I'll be there in Santa Fe.

Dear God. The memories! I haven't seen that movie in well over 10 years so I may be a little rusty but yeah . . .

Nicole to thread.

As for dares, I tend to watch the hilarity unfold rather than get caught in it. When possible.

Aw, me too. My friends are silly like me and only dare me to innocent things, unlike others who might dare you to touch...TO TOUCH A FLICKERING FLAME!

Abbott, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 03:59 (eighteen years ago)

Dude and ENBB, you got the music DOWN! Little did poor Jack know that Santa Fe is a shit salmon, turquoise and copper-colored tourist town.

I am buying tickets for "Jesus Christ Superstar" tomorrow. Starring - the guy that has been playing Jesus for, like, thirty years and Corey Glover AS JUDAS!
I saw this in Seattle many years ago with the guy who has played Jesus, Ted Neeley, and I'm not sure how many times I need to see him crucified.
Abbott, can you sing both the Judas and Jesus parts from this Rockpra?
i have a funny feeling that you can...

Abbott in sekrit goff shockah! ;D

Trayce, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

Dude, I so can sing the Jesus and Judas parts! And all the others, too. I like to walk around reworking the words as I do chores. "It's not that I object to her gender/But Jesus don't you think you could try a guy one time? It wouldn't hurt to bugger a little...I'll go get the lube, we'll meet at 10 past 5."

And on the NEELY front, I believe everyone must see him sing/host this horrifying Betales medley. Not only is the Yvonne Elliman in it, but Patti Labelle and others. The "Back in the USSR" is sadly unforgettable:

I think that clip will increase your desire to see the Neely get INRIed.

Also while I'm in blah blah blah JCSS mode, this seems like a good time to share: My mang auditioned for a high school musical by performing "King Herod's Song." He wasn't being a snide teen, it was just the only musical number he knew all the words to.

Also, his older sister has this, in outline form, as a full-back tat!
