The best day of the week to ask someone out for a date

Maybe a kind of old-fashioned question? I'm talking dinner/movie/dancing/etc., calling up or asking in person for a date scheduled in advance.

Do/did any of you even do that?

My dad said after 9 years of bachelorhood he determined Thursdays were the best: before then, girls didn't wanted to 'keep their options open,' Friday was too late: girls either already had dates OR wanted to pretend they did.

That kind of hard-to-get/phone games world is totally foreign to me.

Has anyone considered the chronological mechanics that are advantageous to getting dates?

Thursdays are good -- feels like a weekend but without the pressure. I like Sundays, too: you can have the whole day open to do things besides traditional nighttime activities.

I think in my dad's world it was 1-2 dates a week, always on the weekends.

As opposed to my world when the date of whatever night is fun, the rest of the week is spent playing board games/video games.

I kept reading that as what day of the week would it be best to call someone and ask them out for a date. Like Thursday would be waaaay to late to ask them for if they want to go out on Friday.

Wednesday is the best day. By Thursday plans for the weekend have already started to form. And Wednesday leaves time for the 'Oh, I couldn't, could I... oh fuck it' thought process to run its course.
