Less than 24 hours before tickets go on sale and ARGH, my home internet connection isn't working. WHY OH WHY MUST THIS ALWAYS BE SO TORTUROUS?

The upshot of this is, if there's anyone who knows me, lives in London and has enough money in their account, it's possible I might need you to buy my ticket for me. I'll be able to reinburse you asap, but email me on my usual Gmail address.

Matt DC, Saturday, 31 March 2007 15:18 (nineteen years ago)

Also, I want to keep track of who is and isn't coming this year.

Matt DC, Saturday, 31 March 2007 15:19 (nineteen years ago)

what time do they go on sale? we aren't going, btw.

toby, Saturday, 31 March 2007 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

9am I think?

Matt DC, Saturday, 31 March 2007 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

Car drivers - don't forget your car-parking permits, you have to buy them at the same time I think.

braveclub, Saturday, 31 March 2007 19:12 (nineteen years ago)

yes 9am

CarsmileSteve, Saturday, 31 March 2007 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

Yes 9am.

I thought their email reminder was v.confusing. It made it look like you needed the credit card details of everyone you are buying for.

I guess, with many people covering their backs by getting everyone in their party to try for the group's tickets, initial, pre-duplicate-weeding sales will potentially lead to an even faster sale than usual. I see they have aleady scheduled a second sale on April 22 to cover this, but I wonder if *any* duplicates will be caught on the day itself.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 00:36 (nineteen years ago)

ha ha lolz @ festival w@nkers.

Charlie, Sunday, 1 April 2007 01:28 (nineteen years ago)

morning

well the official glato site is already running like a dog at 8.40, that's a good sign eh boys and girls?

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

in fact it's "service unavailable"

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

and the seetickets website is gerfuckened as well...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

seetickets looks like a redirect, which they may well take off at 9

peteR, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

Connecting to remote host busy.seetickets.com

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

Ugh hungover. On the plus side I met a girl last night who told me how you can get into North Korea, that might be an alternative if this whole ticket thing goes tits-up.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:47 (nineteen years ago)

i'm just getting "this page cannot be displayed"...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:48 (nineteen years ago)

i take it yr connection is working now then matt :)

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

With girls?

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:52 (nineteen years ago)

looks like the redirect is busy :(

peteR, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:53 (nineteen years ago)

hehe, morning N. i was, in fact, refering to matt's first post, i have never doubted his connection with girls ;)

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:53 (nineteen years ago)

Carsmile, I think it's working okay although it's been in fits and starts. Thanks for yr txt, Pete has kindly offered to oblige if there's a crisis.

Now, you'd *think* that only people who'd actually registered would be trying to get through, but I bet it doesn't work out like that.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

i wonder if it's even worth trying to phone...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

Anyone know the phone number?

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

0870 165 2007

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

0870 165 2007 (International Sales +44 115 993 4183).

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:57 (nineteen years ago)

so o guess you could try the bristol number too...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:57 (nineteen years ago)

here we go then...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:58 (nineteen years ago)

engaged, surprisingly

peteR, Sunday, 1 April 2007 07:59 (nineteen years ago)

"Glastonbury Festival Official Website

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:00 (nineteen years ago)

Bishop Up In Arms About Non-Christian Sale Time

Pete, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:00 (nineteen years ago)

Morning my loves. For some reason Seetickets is taking much longer than Glastonburyfestivals even to return a 404 page :)

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:01 (nineteen years ago)

Happy April Fool's Day, Pete!

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:02 (nineteen years ago)

what the eff are we supposed to do except keep pressing refresh though????

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:03 (nineteen years ago)

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IN THIS BUSY TIME - CONSTANT REFRESHING OF WEBPAGES MAKES IT HARDER FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING YOU TO ACCESS THE SITE"

HELLO GAME THEORY

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

wait, is there a / at the end of that website address or not? the beeb have one, i'm not getting any luck either way, mind...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

First stab at Freya didn't work. This could be frustrating...

Pete, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

Slashes at the end don't make no difference either way.

(I have multiple tabs open in multiple browsers trying for it - not sure if this helps or not)

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:06 (nineteen years ago)

On the plus side, my Sony Ericsson phone has an auto-redial (and speaker) feature so I can just leave that running.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:07 (nineteen years ago)

now the advantage here is no one will be geting through at all so it's not like they'll be selling any tickets.

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:12 (nineteen years ago)

Oh dear. This is starting to feel like 2004 all over again.

RickyT, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:12 (nineteen years ago)

What exactly was it that worked so well last time (ie the one time I didn't actually try and buy tickets)? Why couldn't they just do that again?

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:13 (nineteen years ago)

yes, just a little...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:13 (nineteen years ago)

Rick dude did you register for nu-ILX just for this thread?

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:13 (nineteen years ago)

What exactly was it that worked so well last time (ie the one time I didn't actually try and buy tickets)?

you're answering yr own question there aren't you? ;)

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:14 (nineteen years ago)

the efestivals glato forum has also fallen over...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

Last time it was easy because everyone knew it was going to rain and be shit.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:16 (nineteen years ago)

I have a response!

RickyT, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:16 (nineteen years ago)

Systems thinking required.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:17 (nineteen years ago)

comeon then, get us past the front page

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:17 (nineteen years ago)

Touch him he's magic!

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 1 April 2007 08:18 (nineteen years ago)

OMG SOLD OUT.

ken c, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

except ones with coach travel.

ken c, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

yup. looks that way...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

EH? that's mental...

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:02 (nineteen years ago)

jeez...

toby, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:05 (nineteen years ago)

No way, that's menko.

Toby, who are you trying to buy for?

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

my sister.

toby, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

(although i think she's asleep, so even if i get through i'll have to hope she answers her phone to give me her details).

toby, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:11 (nineteen years ago)

did they advertise this coach thing before today?

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:11 (nineteen years ago)

I reckon they'll be quite a lot for sale on the 22nd so full-scale panic not required.

Got the email confirmation now too. Hurrah! There's no going back.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

(cries)

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

Dude, coach ones are still available!

RickyT, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

yes, we have to send someone on it to find out how it works :)

CarsmileSteve, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

can't get on the '+ coach ticket' page

blueski, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:32 (nineteen years ago)

So this coach thing really forces you to go on the coach by holding your ticket back till you get on, yeah? I presume this is to cut down on the proportion of people driving to the festival. But what if you want to go by train or unicycle? This initiative puts the mental back in environmental.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:37 (nineteen years ago)

You want to go by unicycle = you are a juggler. It's a good deterrant.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

Coach tickets gone now as well.

RickyT, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:44 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently you get given a time of a specific coach, if you don't get on that one then yr fucked.

My lovely friends from back home rang me up and took all my details... during which coach sold out.

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

i won

g-kit, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:49 (nineteen years ago)

You want to go by unicycle = you are a juggler. It's a good deterrant.

The circus tent was the best thing going in the previous Glastonbury!

ken c, Sunday, 1 April 2007 10:56 (nineteen years ago)

my sister's friends got her a ticket over the phone while she was asleep, it turns out :-)

toby, Sunday, 1 April 2007 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

H-how?

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

Oh.

Alba, Sunday, 1 April 2007 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

It's not really sold out, is it?

Mark C, Sunday, 1 April 2007 11:08 (nineteen years ago)

gareth and i agreed that of all the lame excuses for not coming to see carl craig this is possibly THE VERY LAMEST.

The Wayward Johnny B, Monday, 2 April 2007 09:08 (nineteen years ago)

Argh that site is annoying, why aren't the festivals in alphabetical order like on sensible websites?

"Babyhead - Strong Rumour"

Matt DC, Monday, 2 April 2007 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

Only person I know here is ken c, unless usernames are confusing me. ken, do they have CS @ glasto?

g-kit, Monday, 2 April 2007 10:56 (nineteen years ago)

g-kit, Monday, 2 April 2007 12:34 (nineteen years ago)

CharlieNo4, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

mmmm russian

ken c, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:13 (nineteen years ago)

The only way I'm goin' to festivals is if we're playin' them!

Speaking of which, Emsk...? ;-)

Take The Russian to Reading, and when the annoying teenagers start burning things, she will show them how it is done by burning them. IN RUSSIA, FESTIVALS BURN YOU!!!

Masonic Boom, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

i am bringing the russian

are you sure this is a good idea?

haha she'll be fine... also if i do manage to get an upgrade she doesn't want to (bloody pricey) so i may have an escape hatch.

kate, i have talked to r about truck and there is no answer - truck is changing - www.thisistruck.com.

emsk, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

an upgrade? to a full whack posho ticket? aren't they THREE HUNDRED POUNDS? sheesh. or will your swank new paymasters "sort" you "out"?

also emsk, please to confirm tomorrow night comedy goodness!

CharlieNo4, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:50 (nineteen years ago)

Does "no answer" mean no, or does it mean "we won't tell you either way until the absolute last minute"?

Masonic Boom, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

Actually, we should take this to email.

Masonic Boom, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

yep, they are £300. however i am now being paid in MONEY not BEANS and would prob shell out for it - ok by most london waged people's standards i am still hopelessly impoverished but by mine i am LOADED, and i'm so used to not spending money i sort of don't know how to. but i think this would be an example of using it well. also they may indeed "sort" me "out" - they are trying, but it is up to the glastonbury overlords how many tickets they get.

xpost (OMG HELLO XPOST NOTIFICATION I LOVE YOU WELCOME HOME) - it means, there is no answer, even as to how to submit yourselves for consideration. changes are afoot, basically.

emsk, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:57 (nineteen years ago)

and comedy i said yes a week ago!

emsk, Monday, 2 April 2007 13:57 (nineteen years ago)

oops. that truck website is rubbish, what the hell is it?

CharlieNo4, Monday, 2 April 2007 15:21 (nineteen years ago)

it is the dawn of a new era

emsk, Monday, 2 April 2007 18:01 (nineteen years ago)
