So I Am Going to Egypt

Hi my name's Adam, im a studio art student at Georgia State and im going to Egypt in May as part of a class. Anyways i was wondering if anyone here lived in Egypt, or if someone had been and had any advice or knew of any cool places to go. My teacher has been a bunch and has an archeological dig going on so we will have lots of fun things planned out already. But we will have plenty of free afternoons and evenings in Cairo, Luxor, and I think Aswan.

Also if anyone knows of any local Egyptian bands that I should see please let me know! I hear most of the music sold is on tapes and I would love to come back with a bunch of local music. But you know, if there are any places that aren't touristy and still safe...some good youth culture - Im a young art schooler who mostly goes to punk/folk/noise shows. Anyone?
