I'm feeling kinda guilty about hijacking the angora rabbit thread, but I just love photos of snakes and lizards and their cuzzes, so here's the place for 'em.

To begin with, a desert horned lizard (aka horny toad.)

AWESOME! I want to see that lizard bobbing his head to the song.

Also, "Born to be Wild" is the most stupidly hilarious song of all time.

Guess I better get serious about teaching myself Flash.

Kinky turtle sex. Watch all the way to the end. You will laugh the hardest ever.

I love reptiles. I used to catch horny toads in my backyard when I was a kid. But alas they are naught to be seen these days.

Here's my now gone iguana, Chingy:

I waste much state time with photoshop making fake client logos to amuse my co-workers with. not that interesting outside of work though.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 21:12 (eighteen years ago)

I do love the way the shot of him staring out the window sorta works with the lyrics.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 21:14 (eighteen years ago)

He was very pensive there. He was probably actually thinking "Damn, I need to get me some reptile pussy," as that was shortly before he ran away, surely looking for a lady.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

I once knew a gal with a big-ass pet iguana. She and her boyfriend were hanging out with their lizard by the pool in the complex where we lived, and the beast made a break for it from her bf's lap. He grabbed the tail to catch it, which (naturally, per design specs) broke off and the critter kept running as the dude freaked the fuck out at the spontaneous dismemberment.

Good times, good times...

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 21:22 (eighteen years ago)

It may aid in your appreciation of this tableau to know this guy was a muscled-up army/punkrock dude who was almost always shirtless, a condition that revealed the Motorhead "Ace of Spades" tattoo over his heart.

There is very little more primally terrifying than having a lizard tail break off in your hand. Fucking uncatchable desert lizards, bane of my childhood.

Abbott, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 04:31 (eighteen years ago)

they grow back, get over it!

Grandpont Genie, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 08:57 (eighteen years ago)

not very well and never back to original lengths (well igs anyway)

Our Ching was high in mating season and very restless. He never ever would stay in his cage so usually had free roam of the house during the day. I was doing dishes with the stereo loud, the door was ajar for the dog and he took his chance. He was pretty smart. Me, not so much.

I was also not a good lizard mommy. :(

Oilyrags, Sunday, 6 May 2007 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to reply to Mr. Genie above. I am aware they regrow and so, unlike gettting stung by a bee, there's no 'omg I have destroyed its life' guilt. BUT having a spasmodical chaos of dismembered scales is absolutely terrifying. I can see why it makes a good defense mechanism: if I was a bobcat, I could not handle that shit.

Abbott, Monday, 7 May 2007 23:33 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, in the incident I related above, the poor iguana couldn't handle the trauma of its tail-loss and did die.

I left that detail out because I thought it wasn't quite as comedy gold as the rest of the story.
