We got a new dishwasher. It's nice to have one that functions.

The place I work at screwed up in how much they took out of our paychecks. So I had to pay the gov 4 dollars.

If I had gotten a refund I would have spent it on a whirligig.

Not a thing, alas. If it was just my regular paycheck, something else, but freelance money with nothing taken away from each check + not enough expenses to make itemizing worth it = I always owe something, but I set that aside throughout the year.

It covered 80% of my 1st quarter estimated tax payment for '07. I was thrilled; I thought I was about to have to write a check for four figures.

mine is invariably a tax debt. fuckers. by this i refer not only to the taxation office but also to the stupid payroll people who seem to bollocks up the amount they withold every single year despite repeated attempts to remedy their errors.

I thought I was getting a $180 back, but I got a letter saying I needed to pay $180. I looked it over again and sure enough: I was so certain I didn't earn enough money that I'd have to pay that I didn't even notice my deductions hadn't covered my tax. So, I spent mine on graft and corruption in Iraq.

i got back $1,300 on the day after i got to new york last week. i spent about $150 on records, probably $75 on cigarettes, close to $700 on beer, about $300 on unmentionables, and wound up withdrawing the last $80 for the worst cab ride to the airport ever.

What Austin said.

Actually my $149 is being co-opted by my student loan as it has been for years. However the good news is after this month, my loan is paid off! Hooray!!!
