Your buddy cannot receive transfers of directories (folders). You could create and send a zip archive of the directory before sharing, or share each file in the directory individually.

You zip them and set the compression level to "None" or "Store", and it just groups them w/o compressing them.

anyway i did go ahead and zip it but then the problem was that itunes decided to be a bitch and not accept my user information on his computer so it was all for nothing anyway.

Ichat hates me, it won't let me send files at all. I did spend a delightful 26 hours receiving an avi of the Super Mario Bros. movie, however.
