My wife may be going to a conference in London next month. She started looking into places to stay and was taken aback at the cost of many of the locations suggested on the internet. Do any of y'all have any insight into, er, less expensive, decent, quiet, simple places to stay.

(The conference is at the Imperial College. She hoping to stay for 12 day or so in late May)

Yo, 600, that's sounds almost too good to be true.
How well do you know this place???

pretty well. i stayed there a few years ago. the rooms are functional but the place is 100% safe and the neighbourhood is totally safe. the whole street is very similar hotels with different names, but i think theyre actually all owned by the same person

the other guests seemed to mainly be german and american tourists

theres other place around in the 30-40 range, but, to be honest, i think this is a pretty safe bet

two weeks pass...
600-

The Holly House seemed too good to be true. Once my wife got the OK to go, there were no rooms at the inn.

Any other ideas? Actually, she says that she like to stay closer to Kew Gardens, where she says she'll spend most of her off time at.
