if you see any odd shenanigans on ilx, note them here.

one of my posts was eaten.

I've had a few disappear over the last few days.

I was getting a weird error message when trying to post on the "what is in your backpack, etc." thread; I posted on another thread with no trouble and then went back to the first thread and was able to post.

Also a bit of slowing down in ability to post.

i was briefly transported to another dimension which was nothing but everyone i knew tearing themselves apart. i looked to my left and my best friend was holding two handfuls of eyeballs and muttering something in latin.

félix pié, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 17:59 (eighteen years ago)

an Elder God used one of my posts to enter this dimension, but he quickly went home after he saw he was in one of last week's cluskerfuck threads.

That was different.

I noticed increased length and thickness in my database. I couldn't be happier.

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

My posts have been eaten a lot lately. I wondered if it had anything to do with the polls as I had recently voted on one each time I think.

All done on this side.

xpost to Keith's message. That site won't work in a lot of workplaces, btw.

stet, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

An idiot has been posing as me. I fear it's the same idiot that has been doing this for the last 34 years, but still, maybe it's something in the database, eh? *sigh*

*This* happened a few minutes ago.

Are sandbox & tru-ilx databases eventually going to merge?

nickalicious, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 18:32 (eighteen years ago)

I've asked a couple of times if it would be possible to have "last modified" times be listed as actual times instead of "XX minutes/days/months/years ago," and on one occasion Keith said "oh sorry, missed that, I'll get it on the next go-round." I see it hasn't happened. Is it something that can't be done, or won't be done because I'm the only one asking for it, or was it forgotten again because I don't scream and yell and say "NU-ILX IS A BUNCH OF SHIT, BRING BACK THE OLDEN DAYS!!!!11!"

Because I can do that if that's what it takes.

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

I would also like the "last update" thingee switched to absolute time.

kingfish, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

put it in the prefs

I've no idea if this is a new problem (or maybe it's not a problem, but, rather, intentional) - but when I'm reading a long thread and reach that red message that says something like "X messages skipped, click here to load them" and I click that link, I'm then scrolled to the top of the page and have to read back down, trying to recall where I'd left off. Kinda frustrating.

Also, (again, not sure if intentional or not), when I open a thread that I've read before, I have to start at the first post and scroll down to find the new posts - also kinda frustrating.

MsLaura, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 04:56 (eighteen years ago)

Er, one more thing - when I post a reply and hit the little "Submit Response" button, I get a blank screen.

MsLaura, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 04:57 (eighteen years ago)

I can't seem to Login to ILX2 with my username (same as here) and the password that was sent to me.

kv_nol, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 08:27 (eighteen years ago)

Erm I wasn't using my email address. Sorry I am a moron!

There are a bunch of things to deal with this. If you're logged in, it will take you to the place you were last at when you looked at a thread.

In the new version (on the sandbox) there are bookmarks, where you can save your place and return to that point later.

Also, in the new version, clicking the 'show more posts' link takes you to that point.

As for the blank screen - you're using IE, I suspect and deleting your cookies seems to do the trick.

Keith, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 08:39 (eighteen years ago)

Keith, I thank you. I think I wasn't cluing-in that I needed to keep logging-in when visiting the site - and just figured-out that the "Logout" option only shows-up when one is logged in, which means that the "Log In" option shows when I need to do that. Sorry, it's late.

And thanks for the cookies idea - yes I'm stuck with IE on this computer, so I'll go purge the cookies.

Thanks again for the help :)

I was looking at the What Do You Look Like thread and scrolling down and then all of a sudden this sort of big pink blob just appeared out of nowhere. When I put my mouse cursor on it, it shook and made a snuffling noise. What is it? I feel sorry for it.

when I vote in a poll, I check a radio button, then press the grey button and it tells me I haven't selected a radio button. So I go back select one and press the grey button and it tells me that I can't vote coz I've voted already. So have I voted or not? I feel like I'm in Florida.
