Is the prophecy fulfilled by this massacre?

My Dear Fellowmen,

One of the 19 prophecies revealed on October 19, 1979 and published in the Philippine Panorama, the Sunday magazine supplement of a daily newspaper, on March 30, 1980 states:

“Disease of the brain, or insanity, will prevail in 1980, 1981 until 1988, especially in the three superpower countries.”

In 1980, John Lennon of the Beatles, was shot dead by a madman.
In 1981, President Ronald Reagan was assassinated by a madman. Luckily, he survived the assassination attempt.
In 1982, Queen Elizabeth was intruded in her bedroom at Buckingham Palace by a madman.
In 1984, the “Hamburger Massacre” happened at the southern California border town of San Ysidro where 21 people were slaughtered by a madman.
In 1996, the slaughter of 16 innocent children and their teacher happened in Dunblane, Scotland by a madman.
Also in 1996, the “Port Arthur Massacre” in Tasmania, Australia, left 35 people dead killed by a madman.
There are other similar cases in recent years. And now, we have the Virginia Tech Massacre done by a madman.

Among the many people we mix with are people with mental health problem. This was almost repeatedly told to us every year when the Record of Life was read. And we were warned about this problem. Who can we rely on for our protection? Only God. More than ever, now we have to learn to call on Him and know Him.

Is the prophecy fulfilled by this massacre?

The grace of peace of the true God be with us and forever.

With love, your brother in Jesus,

When trying to impose sense or structure on the randomness of daily life, the human mind can come up with some strange coping mechanisms.

In 1981, President Ronald Reagan was assassinated by a madman. Luckily, he survived the assassination attempt.

So he... wasn't assassinated.

There's latin for Internet?

My Dear Fellowmen,

Would you believe that the phenomenon of crop circles is one of the prophecies made in 1979? The prophecy says about unnatural and unbelievable occurrences but nevertheless true. Don't crop circles fit in the prophecy?

888 - THE NUMBER OF JESUS

The number of Jesus is scientifically-proven, and manifested in a post office box in Sydney, Australia. Read about the intriguing "coincidences" in my life that led to this discovery. Recognize, acknowledge, and appreciate this amazing work of the hands of God.

Good for her.

And lo in the years not mentioned in the prophecy, no madmen killed anyone anywhere on God's earth.

There's latin for Internet?

Yes, but "pro aris et focis" is not it, that means something like "for altars and hearths". I've seen the direct translation used: interrete or simply rete. The World Wide Web may be translated as Tela Totius Terrae (TTT).

I somehow feel a little happier knowing that there is a Latin phrase for the interwebs.

We have gone wrong with our abandoning of Greek and Latin constructions for new technology. No matter how much the underlying tech of telephones and televisions changes, the words for the devices themselves continue to encompass their meanings. (Compare with the relatively cumbersome explosion of abbreviations recently, i.e. PVR, DVD, VCR etc)

I didn't know Australia was one of the three superpowers.

The last one I got was from Barbara: "She Won't Be Able To Put Her Hands Around It" - I hope it's prophetic, but I deleted it, I'm afraid.

I hereby prophecy that in 2008, and in 2009-2019 a queen will die, herpes will be spread, and disease of the brain will prevail in the three superpowers, as well in four other countries not so super, but nevertheless important as importers of cheese.

(I know. it's a joke.)

StanM, Thursday, 26 April 2007 12:30 (eighteen years ago)

I think it is funny how prophecy has come to mean 'prediction' in general parlance even tho it originally meant any proclamation of a message from God (e.g. "Prophecy, who hit you?" from Luke 22:64)

Grandpont Genie, Thursday, 26 April 2007 12:31 (eighteen years ago)

Are you suggesting that language wasn't created but is evolving?

StanM, Thursday, 26 April 2007 12:38 (eighteen years ago)

So, I guess for me the question with something like this is: how much do the authors & forwarders of stuff like this believe in it, and how to describe the cosmology (metaphysical cosmology I wanna say much I feel like a phrase like that is just asking for trouble) that these things imply? the one above is really confused; the prophecy runs 'til '88, but the author keeps citing "examples." Is this kinda thing just a parlor game, like spiritual sudoku or something: to be worked out quickly and amused by and then forgotten?
