Poptimism UPDATE:CANCELLED!! now 11th May 2007, not 4th

you know how we've been banging on about how it's dead easy to remember that Poptimism is the first Friday of the month, well, you see, the thing is, they are doing some building work at the Union Tavern (hopefully putting soundproofing in), so we've had to move this month's to the SECOND FRIDAY in May, ie 11th, that is, the day before eurovision, to put it another way, three days before my birthday.

no news yet as to the volume level we'll be able to operate at, but heck, what's the worst that can happen? you sit around with lovely ppl talking nonsense all night...

Tomorrow night is cancelled at the Union Tavern. Basically they have been granted a permanent late licence, but with that came a whole raft of health & safety adjustments and soundproofing (above and beyond what they were putting in). So they are doing that now, but it won’t be finished for another week or so. Then it has to be signed off by the council. Therefore tomorrow is a no can do.

It's worth pointing out there will now be a CONSOLATION FAP at the Pakenham Arms instead, from after-work til whenever. It's open to 1, it's the pub we go to afterwards anyway etc etc.

Sorry guys, I have been owrking hard with Nick the venue manager to get this late licence and we really thought we'd make this week. The licence came back positive but with remedial works required - which seemed to take precedence. It also means the council is on our side not moany neighbour.

Sorry guys, but not much i can do to put foot down, as we don't pay to use it as it is. Se eyou in the Pakenham.
