DO YOU THINK WE CAN FIND ULTIMATE MEANING TO THE UNIVERSE IN COMPLICATION OR IN REDUCTION?

Or, has anyone used QuarkXPress 5 yet? This is one upgrade I have no interest in. Maybe part of the reason why it took so many years for it to come out is that by the time they got to v4, it was pretty much "done".

APPARENTLY IN COMPLICATION

Joyce has no claim to the ultimate meaning.

by the time they got to v4 it was done???! v4 was a minor tinkering with the (ahem) "perfect" toy that was v3 (Quark Xpress is MY bitch).

InDesign 2 is v nice, Quark 5 is OK

Yes InDesign 2.0 looks the business... Table functions! xml capability! Cheap than quark! Transparency options! Now, if we only persuade the printers of the world to ditch quark en masse.

it's not the printers that need encourging. i'm sure they'll be happy to take indesign created PDFs. (unless you mean high street copy shop printers who are in my book, come the revolution up against the wall, etc) It's the sodding precious designers.

Not-fascinating-at-all fact of the day. GLAMOUR magazine = done in InDesign

We do everything in Illustrator, anyway. Bwahaha.
