A hate crime is an unlawful act motivated by prejudice against a type of person or lifestyle. Hate crime legislation imposes additional punishment for crimes motivated by such prejudice.
Liberals promote hate crime legislation for two reasons;
1. to publicize and sometimes exaggerate the importance of prejudice and
2. to legitimize certain lifestyles by declaring them to be protected by law.
Under the second reason, hate crime legislation is a stepping stone for a lifestyle to become protected under anti-discrimination laws.
A ladder to legislate social acceptance and promotion of a lifestyle would be as follows:
* Bottom Rung: hate crime legislation to recognize and accept the lifestyle.
* Middle Rung: anti-discrimination legislation to favor and promote the lifestyle.
* Top Rung: affirmative action to fully promote the lifestyle.

apparently hate crimes legislation is going to be the big distraction issue they're going to try this time around, stamping their feet and yelling that it's thought-crime.

Boy, that really does look like an amateur sketch of the suspected 'jesus the christ.'

If they drew "crown of thorns" Jesus then surely he should be nailed to a big cross and would find it difficult to run away from custody?
