Surely one has to be just a bit better than the other one?

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 29 April 2007 12:05 (eighteen years ago)

saturday is better, sunday is tinged with sadness and dread.

estela, Sunday, 29 April 2007 12:11 (eighteen years ago)

weather and friday nights mess this up

Alan, Sunday, 29 April 2007 12:12 (eighteen years ago)

plus we're right in the middle of that bank holiday rich time o year

Alan, Sunday, 29 April 2007 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

Sundays are pretty bleak, but there's a better selection on TV that night. It's also spaghetti and meatballs night in our house. But Saturday just has more *charisma*. Sunday is like the worst math teacher I ever had. Saturday's the exciting young Lit teacher, fresh from college and full of ideas.

Saturday is better than Sunday for all the reasons you cite. I used to love Saturdays best because I didn't have to dread Monday morning gym class for a whole day.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 29 April 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

sunday mornings = great
sunday evenings = good too

Sunday. I know it has the taint of Monday, but today I feel like I've done everything I needed to do this weekenend, got some stuff done, had my drinking fun, and now I can relax for real.

Jordan, Sunday, 29 April 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

partying on a sunday evening is the best

creme1, Sunday, 29 April 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

i don't get the "dread of monday" thing. are you guys lion tamers or executioners or something?? anyway i say sunday. this should have been a poll.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 30 April 2007 12:04 (eighteen years ago)

dread of monday = you hate your job.

i used to not really look forward to saturdays when i had a saturday job as a student. nor sundays for the same reason.

now tho, it has to be saturday. so many possibilities - whereas you tend to reserve sunday for recovering.

blueski, Monday, 30 April 2007 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

saturday easily

That one guy that quit, Monday, 30 April 2007 12:15 (eighteen years ago)

I love Sundays, especially lazy Sunday afternoons. I love being out early-ish on Sunday morning and the world is so quiet while everyone else is sleeping off their hangover.

I think I've grown to love Sundays more since they have become ROLLING WALKING day.

Masonic Boom, Monday, 30 April 2007 12:18 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah Sundays have a totally different feel to any other day of the week, they lack that feeling of "I can do whatever the fuck I want" abandon you get on Saturday, but Sundays can be nice too. That said the laid back feel of Sundays makes it far more likely that I'll spend the whole afternoon in the pub.

I've been enjoying Saturdays far more since I calmed down on going out Friday night.

Matt DC, Monday, 30 April 2007 12:58 (eighteen years ago)

dread of monday = you love your job but its the only day of the week you have to be up at dawn.

also, monday generally = deadlines due.

so saturday. but friday night's best of all - all that promise...

stevie, Monday, 30 April 2007 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

Oh I don't particularly like my job. I dunno i think Saturdays are too often taken up with being RUINED and then too much squidgy wondering about going out or if you're up to it or whatever. Sunday all that's behind you and there's nothing to do but just settle in and deal with it. And then going out on Sunday, if that's happening, has this great feeling of an unexpected treat.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:17 (eighteen years ago)

Saturdays are for chores you can't get done in the week and are bullshit. Sundays are pure gluttonous me-time goodness.

admrl, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:22 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah that too! Saturdays are wayyy to often like "oh crap now to do the 50,000 things I couldn't do during the week" and/or sit around the house fuming about a non-showing-up delivery person.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:34 (eighteen years ago)

Saturday for me tends to mean getting up at noon to watch Football Focus and then anything after that is a bonus really.

blueski, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:42 (eighteen years ago)

Where has Manish gone? I watch torrents of Football Focus 24 hours late! - another good thing about Sunday!

admrl, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:50 (eighteen years ago)

Manish has been doing the Cricket World Cup for 3 years or so now.

blueski, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:51 (eighteen years ago)

that would explain why I haven't seen him elsewhere.

admrl, Monday, 30 April 2007 23:52 (eighteen years ago)

Guys I think we need to reclaim Saturdays!

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

from who, Gareth?

admrl, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

Gareth has indeed stolen or rendered useless several of my Saturdays. I'm not sure that's the tack I want to take though because I encourage that kind of thing.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 00:05 (eighteen years ago)

we played softball, what more do ya want?

blueski, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah that was good. But: would it be even BETTER on a Sunday, I guess, is what I'm asking??

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe!
