I think I know the answer, but I'll ask anyway: are car lighting systems significantly brighter than they were 10 or 20 years ago? I mutter "Turn your fucking high beams off" to every third car I pass at night these days. I'm probably more sensitive to light than I used to be, and maybe a few more drivers have their high beams on than before. But logic tells me it's just brighter lights on a regular setting.

They are brighter but people also insist on driving with their high beams on or with their high beams and fog lights on in all conditions.
Need to get a bit more Indian about this and paint ‘use dipper at night’ along the highways.
