It's kind of like jock itch, in that you can't just scratch it, you've gotta dump some powder in yer shorts to soothe it. For me that powder came in the form of Witchcraft's
Firewood. The perfect mix of those memorable, fuzzy Black Sabbath riffs and bulbous, throbbing bass, much better than Sabbath's own
Technical Ecsatasy and
Never Say Die, the only two I hadn't heard until recently.
It's been two years, however, and I'm getting itchy again. Wolfmother, The Sword, the new Melvins and High on Fire were okay, but didn't quite do the trick. I'm looking forward to QOTSA's
Era Vulgaris but am not fully confident it will be what I need. So, has anyone heard any of the ones below, or have other recommendations?
