I hate to not support Donald, but Scrooge is the most interesting one, at least in the Barks comics. Reading "The Magic Hourglass" recently, he's one cold bastard.

clotpoll, Sunday, 6 May 2007 09:04 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, it's a tough choice between Donald and Scrooge, both of whom are the among the most flawed and humane of Disney characters - at least compared to squeaky clean characters like Mickey Mouse. All the others on the list (even Huey, Dewey and Louie) are pretty much just caricatures compared to them.

Tuomas, Sunday, 6 May 2007 09:09 (eighteen years ago)

Daffy is the only sensible choice here.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 6 May 2007 09:22 (eighteen years ago)

Daffy is one insane motherfucker.

Other: italic duck

StanM, Sunday, 6 May 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, Daffy wins. Donald is great, but like a more reserved Daffy much of the time. Big props to Howard, too.

cannot believe all these daffy gaywads

donald is way better for being sort of a pissed-off misfit in the disneyverse, daffy may be a little crazier but he's not at all out of place amongst the looney tunes

A duck fell down my chimney once. A female mallard. I had to pull her out of the cleanout door in the crawlspace. She was fine. Maybe these are her ducklings.

Beth Parker, Monday, 7 May 2007 13:38 (eighteen years ago)

i hope this book isn't mega racist, i don't remember the story at all but i got a little choked up just looking at the cover

A B C, Monday, 7 May 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

I used to read it to my boys. I don't remember it being racist, but maybe I was being thick. I'll have to go dig it up.

Beth Parker, Monday, 7 May 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea who THE MIGHTY DUCK is, but surely it must be the best??

Well, depending on how you roll, it's either a Disney live-action film franchise about a scrappy underdog hockey team who overcome their athletic incompetence to rise to the top,

or

The former name of the Ducks of Anaheim, an actual NHL team named after the film.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Monday, 7 May 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

I'm also a little surprised that Puddleduck hasn't shown up yet.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Monday, 7 May 2007 14:39 (eighteen years ago)

So what makes Dewey so popular, I wonder?

Those ducks in Make Way For Ducklings were pretty classic as well.
