complete fucking DUD. especially people that are arrogant with their hotness and just act like fucking assholes. bigger duds as well when you unfortunately and erroneously fancied them until you found out they turned out to be considerably less hot over time.

titchyschneiderMk2, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

this is really classic. i can't think of anything better.

blueski, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

are they very sweaty?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:13 (eighteen years ago)

Wait...are we talking about random roommates or significant others? Or both?

B/c living with a hot chick will disabuse you of a lot of misconceptions of what a hot chick is actually like. Furreals.

B.L.A.M., Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

how is this classic? i mean its classic in the sense that its actually almost a relief but its also kinda annoying. not cos i want them to be hot AND have wonderful personalities (although this would be easier on a one to one level) but just cos too many people let these hot people get away with so much jus cos they ARE hot.

titchyschneiderMk2, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

are you sure you don't think they're even hotter now?

Ronan, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

Hot is in the eye of the beholder. It sounds like your just describing arrogant people.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

"are you sure you don't think they're even hotter now?"

i love a good asshole but not that much.

titchyschneiderMk2, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

i think i might just be your average misanthrope.

titchyschneiderMk2, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

Classic, I guess. An old housemate @nn@ was like this. Fancied her for ages before she ended up living with me by a strange quirk of fate, and she very quickly became less hot than before. It wasn't the arrogance that stopped me fancying her, just her SHEER STUPIDITY. And not even cute stupidity, just bumbling around in a daze not really knowing or caring about very much at all. She very quickly became unhott.

The Wayward Johnny B, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 16:37 (eighteen years ago)

sounds like someone has fallen in love

696, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:09 (eighteen years ago)

there was an article about this in the daily mail last week. maybe steve can tell you about it

696, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

paul scholes 510

696, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoow? uh xpost ;_;

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

haha

sunny successor, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:13 (eighteen years ago)

Adults who know how hot and attractive they are are about as endearing as children who know how cute and adorable they are. Monsters, iow.

Aimless, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

how can you not know?

gff, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

Except, Aimless not all people who are hot exploit it cheaply. I've knnown a couple of remarkably attractive people who were really nice. Nice enough to make you wonder if it was a cleaver reaction to the 'hot people are assholes' stereotype but they turned out to just be pleasant people.

Ned Trifle II, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:31 (eighteen years ago)

the majority of the really attractive guys ive known have been nice & all-round good people

the girls are all evil tho ew girls

deeznuts, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

I was speaking of those who seriously exploit their looks, of course. Those who resolutely ignore their opportunity to exploit their hotness are often quite nice, just like enormously large and strong men who go out of their way to be unintimidating.

Aimless, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

The 1st thing I thought of when i saw the thread title is if it had any correlation to this thread.

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

Huh - i see ned t thought the same thing.

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

gareth you paedo stop slandering me.

blueski, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

cursed return, thats the thread that made me make this one. reminded me of some ppl i know.

titchyschneiderMk2, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 10:58 (eighteen years ago)

For me hotness is always about WAY more than just looks. I dont really get into someone being hot til I know their mind, so finding out they are an arrogant wanker/boring/vapid is a pretty quick turn off. Minds are always so much hotter than looks.

Trayce, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 11:11 (eighteen years ago)

Both my flatmates are attractive, but I've known them for around ten years and there's something about day-to-day mundanity and buying milk and them just being there all the time that makes you forget that this is the case.

Anna, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 11:29 (eighteen years ago)

I once shared an apartment with one of the hottest women I'd ever even seen in person. Anna's right that the mundanities of everyday life quickly make this fade into the background. It was more when friends would come over. They'd suddenly clam up, or become absurdly demonstrative and I'd wonder what was wrong with them and then I'd remember. She was pretty arrogant but I like arrogance if it's not yoked to cruelty.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 12:38 (eighteen years ago)

what if you have to listen to them having sex?

this has never happened to me.

blueski, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 12:42 (eighteen years ago)

When I heard her havign sex I used to get really narky and play Beach Boys and Gilbert and Sullivan at high volume, two of the unsexiest acts ever.

The Wayward Johnny B, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 12:51 (eighteen years ago)

I just had roomates that I thought were sane until I got to live with them.

Nicole, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

I have this theory that people who are hott and really nice are either not very intelligent or bad at sport. I've never known all four in talents in the one person.

Madchen, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:20 (eighteen years ago)

The person I lived with often had loud sex with her layabout boyfriend, accompanied by sounds that I can only assume were produced with a hairbrush.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

she was brushing her hair?

696, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:28 (eighteen years ago)

-- Madchen

I think I agree with you. If you could choose you'd pick bad at sport really wouldn't you?

Anna, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:31 (eighteen years ago)

Depends on the sport, though, doesn't it?

Michael White, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:32 (eighteen years ago)

I can confirm Madchen's theory. I tried playing on a competitive baseball team this year and my shoulder immediately gave out.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

i ran 100m in 13.6 at the end of last year. i have no idea if this is good or not

696, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

i can't imagine you running.

blueski, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:37 (eighteen years ago)

In fear, perhaps.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:38 (eighteen years ago)

From zombies.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:38 (eighteen years ago)

They run fast.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:38 (eighteen years ago)

that would be good

blueski, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:39 (eighteen years ago)

No they don't. They lurch haphazardly.

C J, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:39 (eighteen years ago)

Like me, when I'm the worse for drink.

C J, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

i am on a kickball team.

gff, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

If you could choose you'd pick bad at sport really wouldn't you?

I'd definitely pick bad at sport. Lack of co-ordination can be endearing, anyway.

Madchen, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 15:44 (eighteen years ago)

Though Mr White's comment is noted.

nah, i'm just balding

river wolf, Thursday, 10 May 2007 03:25 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, it's every female I've ever lived with. Classic!

King Boy Pato, Thursday, 10 May 2007 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

I live with a hot, funny, smart varsity wrestler. It's a little annoying, in that I no longer get to feel superior about *anything*, and also he does the absolute minimum to keep up with the dishes.

Maria, Thursday, 10 May 2007 04:15 (eighteen years ago)

Anna and Tracer otm, I used to live with a woman who is probably objectively the best-looking person I've ever known, but it would take friends of mine coming over and visibly double-taking when they met her for me to remember how striking she was. although, she was also insecure about her looks and whenever she'd give voice to it, I'd remember, in a cognitive dissonance "can you see yourself?" kind of way.

anyway she was very nice and cool, she did not come to seem less hot because of turning out to be an asshole.

horseshoe, Thursday, 10 May 2007 04:32 (eighteen years ago)

Bet she couldn't catch a frisbee.

Madchen, Thursday, 10 May 2007 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

it's reassuring to actually develop an opinion about somebody, rather than have a blind affection for them because they're hot.

Charlie Howard, Sunday, 13 May 2007 05:58 (eighteen years ago)

otm

Trayce, Sunday, 13 May 2007 09:25 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't lived with anyone hot for about five years but it does give you a trump card with your friends in that they always want to come and hang out at yours. Which is great when you're too lazy to get up and go to their house and they're always happy to visit out of thinly-disguised lust.

Matt DC, Sunday, 13 May 2007 10:48 (eighteen years ago)

It is completely classic if it leads you to a saner sense of hotness.

Casuistry, Sunday, 13 May 2007 14:02 (eighteen years ago)

It was classic for me because I realized he was too dull to date, but a polite, clean, helpful, honest roomie who was timely about bills. So good roomie found and bad relationship avoided.

Abbott, Sunday, 13 May 2007 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

Another thing that clued me in was the time he was fucking in the next room. The girl kept saying, "I love you," and he kept shouting "I KNOW, OKAY?" erm.

Abbott, Sunday, 13 May 2007 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

Hahah WTF!!

Trayce, Sunday, 13 May 2007 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

That's the only correct response in that situation.

Casuistry, Monday, 14 May 2007 01:13 (eighteen years ago)
