Avoid this at ALL costs.

This product (despite all its claims) will not actually turn you into a goddess, so avoid it at all costs. Unless you want to shave your hairy spidery legs, in which case it might be worth buying.

i can't believe i actually bought into the ad when this was first released. it just seemed so easy and effortless... and it was, since it didn't work.

anhell*ca, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

Klankton, what is that thing up there? Not the venus thing, the other thing? I can't make it out. Is it one of those room smell things, but with lights in it? I've seen them advertised and they look like the biggest waste of money ever.

accentmonkey, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

yep, that's what they are, i'm guessing they're a complete waste of time, unless they come with free pr0n

klankton, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)

wendy's steakhouse double melt

brownie, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

Okay I am glad to read about the Veet because I hate shaving and I so, so, so wanted to believe despite knowing deep down inside that there's no way that stuff could work as advertised. You have saved me money, anhell*ca and I thank you.

there are 40 crest whitestrips in here and although they could have easily put them in a simple cardboard box, Crest had to put them in a bulletproof heavy plastic TRUNK. f u crest

iiiijjjj, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

they probably work fine (though getting a tan is free), i just HATE excessive packaging and this one is about as flagrant as those mini doritos "to go" containers that are plastic for no reason

wendy's steakhouse double melt

also see thier new focaccia sandwiches. i had the "club": two types of coldcuts, but split down the middle, so it's like two sandwiches, each skimpy, old, dark green lettuce, and about six dollops of mayonniase. gross.

negotiable, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know how new it is, but the Quizno's "Philly Cheesesteak" with the "white cheddar cheese sauce" (read: NOT CHEESE), and the sautéed onions (read: LIMP AND SLIMY ICKINESS) is one of the foulest sandwiches I have ever had, no jokin'.

A little bit of tuna -- elaborately packaged with crackers, mayonnaise, relish (!?), and a stick with which to poke them into various combinations. There's nothing necessarily so wrong with this. I bought one once, and ate it. It was fine. Nevertheless, I'm completely angered and grossed out by it.

nabisco, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

Also thanks for giving me a whole SIX fake Ritz crackers, jerkwads.

nabisco, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 17:02 (eighteen years ago)

you're most welcome, jenny! and i know exactly how you feel... i've tried it all, and keep coming back to the f'ing razor.

anhell*ca, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

The steakhouse double melt thing was so soggy that the bun disintegrated immediately leaving me with a handful of meat patties while the cheese ran all over my fingers. Picking up that sandwich was like reaching into a corpse.

I gave in (what are they gonna do, fire me?) and it's just a still from the Carl's Jr ad with PH and a big drippy burger.

What a letdown! Terrible flavor...

Tape Store, Saturday, 26 May 2007 03:19 (eighteen years ago)

OMG I WISH THAT TASTED GOOD SO I COULD EAT IT BECAUSE IT LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 26 May 2007 03:23 (eighteen years ago)

If you're obsessed with honey graham things, it might work, but it tasted like Golden Grahams Part VI: SWEEEEEEEET CORN SYRUP'S REVENGE to me.

Tape Store, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:10 (eighteen years ago)

things I enjoy:

1) graham crackers
2) Life cereal

things I don't enjoy so much:

1) Golden Grahams :/

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

Why mess with Life cereal? It's one of those perfect tastes.

Hurting 2, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:15 (eighteen years ago)

cinnamon life rules tho

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

The package designer for that Life cereal box is a genius of the subspecies evil.

Aimless, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)

there's also a chocolate Life that's gross.

http://www.lifecereal.com/images/img_box_LifeCOC.jpg

it looks pretty gross, though, and I'm a total sucker for having been curious.

horseshoe, Saturday, 26 May 2007 23:25 (eighteen years ago)

That makes me sad...It sounds good!

Oh shit, I used to work with the guy who runs this. I believe at one point he also owned bikeseatsniffer.com

Original and cinnamon life are great. Other iterations are not so good.

lol @ cherry garcia

Jena, Sunday, 27 May 2007 02:44 (eighteen years ago)

and i thought it was such a great idea too. when i'm on the go i don't always have the time to inhale an entire pint of ben and jerry's! but it tasted like sweetened fat. like beef fat or something. there is thick (and i love those disgusting wendy's shakes) and there is grainy goopy thick that reminds me of barf.

scott seward, Sunday, 27 May 2007 02:45 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha

And Scott OTFM! I actually vomited after consuming that Cherry Garcia concoction. It tasted horrible and cost sooo much (the latter explains why I dealt with the former)

To be fair, I didn't try these, so there's really no way to tell, but...

I saw a Ben and Jerry's Glastonberry icecream the other day. vWhy the fuck can't Americans realise that it's pronounced GLASS-TON-BREE?!?!?!

Uptoeleven, Thursday, 7 June 2007 00:17 (eighteen years ago)

uh, it's not pronounced "cherry" garcia either. ever heard of a pun?

jed_, Thursday, 7 June 2007 00:28 (eighteen years ago)

I think the idea might be that the pun doesn't work unless the original word sounds like the pun word.

Doctor Casino, Thursday, 7 June 2007 00:54 (eighteen years ago)

"glastonberry" sounds pretty much like the the place name.

Who wants a brie flavored ice cream?

nickn, Thursday, 7 June 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

two months pass...

Kroger's new Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Ice Cream isn't awful but it isn't very good either. It turns out that oatmeal itself has a difficult flavor (if any) to transmit to ice cream, so it becomes subject to the vagaries of whatever particular recipe of oatmeal cookie of which you are most fond. Kroger apparently favors tons of cinnamon and sweetener, which is fine as far as it goes, but really you'd be better off with an ordinary chocolate chip flavor IMO.
