Not my graduation (we don't really go in for that sort in Britain, you only get to graduate from university), but my Mum getting her Masters. I am also the high school age of 17.

Anna, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

We didn't have a graduation from sixth form, but this is what I looked like just before leaving for a big night out at Bojanglez in Guildford.

I never graduated from high school. I got a GED. I'm hardly scanning that.

Masonic Boom, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 15:57 (eighteen years ago)

which is you Madchen?

My scanner's broke. :(

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

On the left, with the little plaits in my hair. I'm looking at that photo and wishing I could tell my 18-year-old self to look in the mirror and realise that she really is not ugly.

Madchen, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

And that it's not a bad thing that Mum has forbidden me from getting a perm like Karen's.

Madchen, Tuesday, 15 May 2007 16:00 (eighteen years ago)

We don't graduate like that with gowns and things either. I have hiy-larious photos from my last day of school/muck up day though and in them I'm totally lol college drunk with too much gothy makeup on. I have got to get the photos off mum and scan one.

Trayce, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 06:14 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think anyone in the UK has an actual high school graduation ceremony, do they? At my university graduation I refused to get an official pic taken because a) my hair looked stupid and b) I didn't want to end up murdered - it's a well known fact that everyone who gets murdered gets their graduation photo on telly so there must be a causal link.

Mark C, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

In the age of Facebook and MySpace, the "graduation photo of murder victim" has a worrying new dimension — for example, one of the Virginia Tech victims who was splashed across the world's front pages dressed in a toga and holding a shot glass full of some pecuilar-looking blue liquid.

Yep. I'm afraid some of the boys gave her the nickname Wetlook.

Also you were (and presumably still are) v. good-looking.

:) Know of anyone with a tardis so we can go back and give me a good talking to?

Madchen, Thursday, 17 May 2007 08:45 (eighteen years ago)
