It's cliche, but the phrase "been caught stealing, once, when I was five..." applies to me. Caught once, very young, learned my lesson...that lesson being: DONT GET CAUGHT.

i stole five volumes from the discount table outside Audreys books the summer i was 18 the day of my grad party in fact , temptation mostly . I was caught and got diverted into a program where i paid an eighty dollar fine to a chairty that the parloe officer chose . Dull really .

I stole some stuff out of a Walgreens and thought I was homefree once I got about a block away and then the manager pulls up on me in his SUV. I had about $50 worth of stuff but amazingly he just took it back and let me go and didn't call the cops.

There was a Spar by my nan's house when I was about twelve and the woman working there was ultra-dozy and would just disappear for ages to go for a smoke or whatever (no cameras, either). So I'd nick magazines and sweets and stuff. Think I'd be too chickenshit to rob anything in any other circumstances, though.

I was way too chicken to ever even try to steal anything. Freshman roommate stole a bottle of Boone's from a Wegman's when I was with her and I nearly had a heart attack because I was convinced I'd go down with her. ha.

I've never shoplifted, but when I was a kid I was in our local Spar and saw the most blatant bit of shoplifting. Basically some guy came in, picked up a paper, grabbed a load of other stuff, and with no attempt to conceal anything just walked straight out of the store. All in front of two assistants, the store manager, and four customers. And it was one of the customers who had to say "You know that guy who just walked out? He didn't pay!"
