I had a really good time. Top entertainment this time provided by the downstairs club being full of underage language school girls not drinking anything and standing waving their arms (over-the-top uv lighting made them all look glowing white and they were all superskinny so Alex dubbed them Hattifatteners). Also no matter how many left the club there were always the same amount downstairs because as we know they GROW OUT OF THE GROUND.

Turnout was about twice sussed II and there were some unfamiliar faces, and I think DJ Cockfarmer is starting to get the hang of this pop+indie mixture. From the booth, hits of the night were "Romeo", "Do You Remember The First Time?", "Overload" and the "Baby One More Time"/"One More Time" megamix. From the floor, A Flock Of Seagulls and the Osmonds got a mighty reception and - astonishing relationship breakthrough - Isabel danced to "The Boy With The Arab Strap" and LIKED IT.

Best downstairs moment (you have to go downstairs to get to the toilet) - going down the stairs, Hattifatteners givin' it up for "The Macarena". Song fades out to be replaced by...."The Macarena".

I left before the Hit Me Baby ONE MORE TIME - but Romeo did indeed get an uproarious reception. And those who have been following the Alex and Emma jacket scandal will be pleased to hear it is now all sorted out. Phew.

It was a giggle, apart from Tom's brother sexually harrasing* me all night. Al is now Libido Boy!
*In a jokey way, of course.

Although he (Al) was dry humping Dr Thompson across the dancefloor at one point...

As usual thank you everyone for coming, discussions could quite possibly be taking place for us to do it "one more time" I don't know, haven't spoken to our pete yet today, also i can find out if we did in fact have a bigger bar take than downstairs (40 ppl upstairs, 150 ppl downstairs). Oh, Indiest Boy in Oxford was there too!!

Not out of bed then?! Pah, I got up at 7am and was at work 90 minutes later. I was just too braindead as a result of that to type anything in response at the time and spent all day gawping lurkerishly at ILE while making inconsequential changes to HTML files and putting them back again just in case any of my bosses were bored enough to keep tabs on the "last updated" attribute of the files I was supposed to be working on...

Anyway. It was absolutely classic (classic and dud are now the two adjectives I always think in terms of and in my top 5 most used adjectives), and it was great to meet more ILE/ILMers and put names to faces and all that. And Hamish the Angel and Greyhound cat was there! *swoon*

Sorry for getting far too drunk. Blah. I decided that despite not having drunk much for ages I was only getting drunk slightly faster than usual and then vast drunkenness hit me all at once. Oops. And sorry for not being very good at conversation until I got embarrassingly drunk and then became bad at conversation in the opposite direction, too.

I hope the skypicnic is going well. Must say it sounded rather good from the planning posts, envy envy. Sorry I very rudely didn't confirm my absence but I clean forgot until it was too late to do so anyway.
