C'mon, media. Give it up why don't you?
a) oh those poor boys their mother well it's OK to slag them off and make their relationships untenable, but oh. b) other.

From the Sky News equiv of Have Your Say: "I do not think Channel 4 should show the pictures because it is not in the public interest even if it does interest the public". Good point, well made. No rly.
― ledge, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:30 (eighteen years ago)
it is a cogent point.
― Frogman Henry, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:33 (eighteen years ago)
This whole exercise became pointless the second the world found out the pictures (still) exist.
― StanM, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:39 (eighteen years ago)
channel 4 are mad to ruffle feathers with the establishment after shilpagate; also the whole thing is daily express-tastic.
iirc the really juicy images were published in foreign magazines but not here, so presumably they're accessible on the interweb anyway.

it's odd, whenever Diana turns up on the front of the Mail or the Express it feels to me like they are pining for the John Major era, the pictures are always from those years. This strikes me as a strange thing to pine for. Maybe you have to read the Mail or Express to understand.

I do kind of think this will hasten the end of Channel 4 though, which is kind of interesting a bit sort of in a way.

If the question:
"Should the MI5 documents relating to Diana's death, from before and after the incident, never be released ever"
was put to the general public, I reckon they'd vote yes by a margin.
― Mark G, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:45 (eighteen years ago)
xpost they survived "death on the rock" so they'll survive this!
They are completely blurring Diana out of these images when they show them, yeah?
― Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:48 (eighteen years ago)
Maybe they should photoshop a Dalek in, or the words "I HAS A FATAL COLLISION", might as well go out fighting.

― Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:58 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, but they're gonna blur Diana out. So it's basically gonna be the most controversial indistinct black and white mush ever.
― Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 08:59 (eighteen years ago)
I feel like I'm leaving some kind of punchline trailing there and it's making me uneasy.
― Michael Philip Philip Philip philip Annoyman, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 09:00 (eighteen years ago)
No, but it will likely hasten the sell off of them, which in the end may be much the same thing.
― Billy Dods, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 09:03 (eighteen years ago)
I forgot there was a fake picture too (wounded blond lady in car wreck, was on the front page of a French newspaper but neither the yellow uniforms of the firemen nor that emergency phone number are in use in France) ( warning: this is a real car crash victim picture, just not Diana. http://www.bobsob.com/crash2.jpg )
