it would be better if people stopped paying attention to royals

It's kind of weird that they would accept their lot in life: Tons of money yeah, but no freedom of religion, no choice of career, no choice in partners/spouses (for the direct heirs to the throne anyway), and Harry can't even publicly acknowledge his own father.

Not even THAT much money, I thought? I mean, probably "a lot" to us, but not in the scheme of things -- the properties and furniture and autos and crown jewels and etc are either all or mostly-all state-owned, anyway.

I wouldn't say it's "pretty much accepted" that Charles isn't is dad. Lots of rumour and inuendo and interweb gossip. But the idea that Mr Hewitt is actually the daddy isn't generally accepted by the British public.

I start that beef every time I walk into a pub called the kings head. I leap on the bar and call for them to display the king's head and if they can't produce it call on all stout yeoman of england to march on the palace to procure one.

I used to get into that kindof beef more than was strictly neccessary with a couple of my friends' parents when I was a teen. But yeah, a lot of people in this country are still staunch royalists and it's always fun to shout them down.
