OK, I know there are plenty of talented photographers out there, so when a plea from a friend of mine came up I thought of you lot. Basically she is an archaeologist and is writing a book for English Heritage on the Archaeology of Modern Britain. In particular how the urban landscape has changes over the last fifty years. Problem is she does not have a budget for employing any decent photographers. However if you were able to do any of this, you would retain copyright for your photos, which you could then charge for if there were reprints, or follow ups. And you might just like to see your arty fartsines sin an handsome book.
Anyway, what she requires in her own words: "I need pictures of private housing estates of the rich footballer or mail-reading commuter kind. I need pics of townscapes particularly representative of immigration in cities where South Asian/East Asian communities are particularly high - Leeds, Bradford, Leicester etc.... I've been informed that Dewsbury for example has a townscape of mosques that are really distinctive from some viewpoints - that kind of thing. I need urban sports - city basketball courts slotted into space between blocks/5-aside complex/ski-slope/skate-park - anything of that type. I need a 'homeless' pic - I've been thinking a cardboard city type thing, basically ephemeral evidence of people living in concrete places. People in shots is ok - but they can't be recognisable.... If anyone is near Aycliffe/Corby/Peterlee/Runcorn/Skelmersdale/Telford/Washington...... other north-ish new towns that would be great I need front/back gardens that typify the change in nature of these eg: front garden tarmacced for cars - back garden that has been 'Titchmarshed'. Oh and Doncaster Dome aqua park, any old leisure centre/leisure complex.... I need Evesham 'Heart of ENgland' Crematorium! The emphasis is on landscape so if possible, shots that take these things in their context are ideal. They need to be digital, or slide film and they need to be 390dpi or above whatever that may mean. I can't pay but pics will be in an EH publication (out October) and will be fully credited. I might be able to sort out expenses if someone has a good plan but can't quite justify the trip..... I've more or less run out of time but if someone had an idea that they knew they could get - as long as I knew it was coming I could make a case for it and other than that, all I can offer to you and any photographer would be my total undying love."
If interested let me know either on here, or e-mail me. It works!

Has she contacted photography course students? They might also be willing to do this. Hmm, probably a stupid ass comment. She probably already did.

Yes, and no. She is not super pro-active, so I am being about as pro-active as I can be on her account.
