gabbneb, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

when she starts singing in Elf I kinda get some dirt in my eye

TOMBOT, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

i always get seated next to zooey at gingergrass. she's super-beautiful.

remy bean, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

o my zooey crush knows no bounds...

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

Mumford cause I'm gay for Jason "Banky" Lee

The Macallan 18 Year, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

Her "cirque du face" line in The Good Girl is pretty much the only watchable moment of that whole thing.

^^^ almost makes me want to rent shitty Sarah Jessica Parker rom-com

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

Where's "Abandon"? Not that she has much competition for our attention, but she's pretty awesome as Katie Holmes' roomie.

Why do people who start polls edit the Imdb filmography listing down?

da croupier, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

ALL THE REAL GIRLS duh

n/a, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

</corny indie fuck>

n/a, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

I figured Abandon was some kind of straight to video thing (as were the other ones I tossed).

Also because the actual poll results aren't exactly the point.

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

WHO ARE YOU TO PLAY GOD

da croupier, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

but she's pretty awesome as Katie Holmes' roomie.

Agreed.

Zooey sez:

The scene where we are on Katie's bed and we're eating cereal out of a box, that is what me and my best friend did in college. I asked Stephen, “Please can we eat cereal out of a box because that's what my best friend and I do?” He said, “That's a great idea.”

jaymc, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

ACTING!

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

Her "cirque du face" line in The Good Girl is pretty much the only watchable moment of that whole thing.

otm. her whole part, really. i remember thinking to myself, she's everything Parker Posey should have been.

wanko ergo sum, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

Did she get a screenwriting credit?

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

It's extract of the ginkgo, and it makes your skin real slick so that any liquid will roll right off you, be it water, or lemon juice, or urine. I'll put it in a bag for you.

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

Abandon is a very horrible film.

What are we supposed to be voting on?

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

Mumford.

Though I hate to admit that my crush was fully formed watching her in the otherwise lamentable Almost Famous.

will, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

Are we meant to vote for the best film, the best ZD performance, or the one she is cutest in?

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

What are you voting for in all the other polls, Alba?

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

Representatives to Congress.

nickalicious, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

I think I have not been paying attention to all the other polls of actors, because they were not about Zooey Deschanel, I suppose.

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

(I have very little interest in Bruce Willis, Val Kilmer, or that other dude I haven't heard of)

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

lol

▒█▄█ ▄▄ ▒█▄█, Thursday, 14 June 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

elf elf elf

Dimension 5ive, Thursday, 14 June 2007 20:30 (eighteen years ago)

she just made an album with M. Ward.

Dandy Don Weiner, Thursday, 14 June 2007 20:33 (eighteen years ago)

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb and vote for Elf.

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

These movies are all balls.

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry bigsley eyeington, you have been in but poopoo movies & I mix you up w/Maggie Gyllenhal.

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 21:49 (eighteen years ago)

she just made an album with M. Ward.

That's disappointing to hear.

WOO WYE!!!111

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 21:54 (eighteen years ago)

Gyllenhal is mostly meh. Also, too skinny. Zooey is awesome, she's just been in a lot of piss-poor movies. I kinda liked Mumford though!

I fell asleep during All the Real Girls, so I can't really say. But my friend liked it.

will, Thursday, 14 June 2007 21:58 (eighteen years ago)

She has a great voice and I look forward to the Ward/Desch colab.

WOO MAEK ZOOAY HAPPEEEEE

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:04 (eighteen years ago)

Guess no one else has seen her as the oversexed psycho-hippie in Weeds

Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

No Bridge to Terabithia? She was great in that. She's certainly the best thing in a few of those films.

Ned Trifle II, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

looking at this: why exactly does she have a career and/or reputation again?

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

is it just because of jimmymod type dudes with a fixation on saucer-orbed rory gilmore knock-offs?

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

yes, but the mumbly voice helps.

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

also her name is zooey which reminds me of zoobilee zoo

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

well that's your problem

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

OMG how could that conjure up cuteness or positive connotations for you? That show was scare-y as fuck!

xpost i hate zooey deschanel, abbott

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

well i dont "hate" her

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

oh wait you are anti-Zooey, thx

She reminds me of tedious, pointless ZOOEY of 'Franny &' fame.

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

OMG that FOX nightmares will have been had by ME by this time tomorrow.

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

lol @ memory of epically sad/quixotic anti-gyllenhall crusade mounted by ethan and me circa-2003

strongohulkington, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

i like that this thred is now top-ranked of the fuckoff hamas thred

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

naming your kid zooey after that book = resounding dud

wanko ergo sum, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, it's like begging them to spend 140,000 of your dollars on a lame-ass but prestigious college where they never do anything because of their "maliase" and then tell you you should read Sidhartha because it changed her life & shit.

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

And then when they complain about it in missives dramatically sprinkled with tears (fake or real), the don't even spell malaise right.

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:25 (eighteen years ago)

And they chose malaise because they couldn't spell ennui.

wanko ergo sum, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:26 (eighteen years ago)

I think Abbott just described my dream woman.

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:28 (eighteen years ago)

Fuck, now I have the theme to Zoobilie Zoo stuck in my head. WHY ZOOEY WHY?

Abbott, Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

zooey in "franny & zooey" would probably hate the idea of some actress being named after him, for God's sake.

J.D., Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:46 (eighteen years ago)

does she pronounce it "zo-ey"? because i think salinger's zooey is pronounced "ZOO-ey," it's a silly nickname for zachary.

J.D., Thursday, 14 June 2007 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Thursday, 14 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

can't believe this, elf was the absurdist thing ever.

Heave Ho, Thursday, 14 June 2007 23:16 (eighteen years ago)

ILX top three shockah: Twee, Indie and Nerdy

milo z, Thursday, 14 June 2007 23:38 (eighteen years ago)

She pronounces it Zoe, I once read.

Alba, Thursday, 14 June 2007 23:51 (eighteen years ago)

elf is pretty great if just for the scene where will ferrell throws himself across james caan's desk to answer the phone. "buddy the elf! what's your favorite color?"

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

WOOT I AM NERDY

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:10 (eighteen years ago)

I am the lone vote for sappy (Almost Famous)

milo z, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

J.D. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I hate the Deschanel siblings as much as I do the Gyllenhaals.

tokyo rosemary, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:49 (eighteen years ago)

wtf is zooey d in that's not twee, indie or nerdy

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

I would have voted Weeds because her and MLP on same show = :D

marmotwolof, Friday, 15 June 2007 02:00 (eighteen years ago)

and "These movies are all balls." is kinda true

marmotwolof, Friday, 15 June 2007 02:02 (eighteen years ago)

"The New Guy" is not twee, indy, or nerdy, and I am the only one who voted for it. It also has one of the most WTF casts ever.

The Yellow Kid, Friday, 15 June 2007 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

ok yeah I forgot I had seen that and it was kind of fun

marmotwolof, Friday, 15 June 2007 04:53 (eighteen years ago)

i saw this chick at the movies once. she was so bummed and bugged to be there. it was so hot.

chaki, Friday, 15 June 2007 10:19 (eighteen years ago)
