David R., Friday, 15 June 2007 13:24 (eighteen years ago)

What the fuck, they're remaking the Birds. This summer... SEE unbearable tension and implied horror replaced by hyperactive CGI seagulls!

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 13:27 (eighteen years ago)

wtf five remakes for Watts in this decade?? (The Ring 1&2, Kong, Funny Games, The Birds.) Get 1 new agent.

Phil D., Friday, 15 June 2007 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

she can star in anything and i'd still <3 her

Tank Girl!

Tuomas, Friday, 15 June 2007 13:44 (eighteen years ago)

It's great you gave us an opportunity to vote for movies that aren't even made yet.

Tuomas, Friday, 15 June 2007 13:44 (eighteen years ago)

Wtf, there's a remake of Funny Games coming? Who the hell saw a point in remaking that? It's not like the plot or the characters are that interesting, it's all in the execution (no pun intended).

Tuomas, Friday, 15 June 2007 13:47 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe this time they'll do the execution correctly...?

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 13:48 (eighteen years ago)

ok jhosh your taste in ladies, we have to talk about it.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:01 (eighteen years ago)

Just because he hasn't started a cokewhore thread

Mr. Que, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:02 (eighteen years ago)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Naomi Watts or Cate Blanchett.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

naomi watts is the most boring looking individual on the face of the planet.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

lol dan you really, really hate julianne moore, don't you

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:05 (eighteen years ago)

ok dan, got to know, please explain

jhøshea, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)

I'm guessing the explanation is going to be Alex-in-NYC-esque.

David R., Friday, 15 June 2007 14:07 (eighteen years ago)

naomi watts is gorgeous

Bill Magill, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:07 (eighteen years ago)

David R., Friday, 15 June 2007 14:08 (eighteen years ago)

she is cute

ghost rider, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:09 (eighteen years ago)

She looks fittest in I Heart Huckabees, but it was a rotten movie I thought.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:10 (eighteen years ago)

jude law cannot do an american accent.

naomi can, however:)

latebloomer, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:11 (eighteen years ago)

yeah she looks best in huckabees but the problem is that isabelle huppert AND isla fisher are both in that movie too. also you are wrong, that movie is awesome.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:12 (eighteen years ago)

so so funny

jhøshea, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:13 (eighteen years ago)

WORRRRRRRRRRD!

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:15 (eighteen years ago)

I saw it in a sleep-deprived state on a long haul flight, and I found it incredibly irksome and far too pleased with itself. I was really looking forward to it as well, having adored Three Kings.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:15 (eighteen years ago)

also the part where marky mark just throws jude law to the ground

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:15 (eighteen years ago)

in fact ALL of the parts where jude law just gets hit

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:15 (eighteen years ago)

JET GIRL

TOMBOT, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:16 (eighteen years ago)

Once upon a time, Dan and some friends rented "The Big Lebowski". Everything about the movie was fun and entertaining except for the horrible, fingernails-on-chalkboard character portrayed by Julianne Moore that was so far out of step with the tone of caricature portayed by the other actors that it wasn't even funny. Dan and friends then watched the DVD extras where Julianne Moore claimed to be going for a posh upper-class American boarding school accent with her character. Dan and his wife, having gone to school with a shit-ton of posh upper-class American boarding school kids, instantly called bullshit on this lame-ass attempt to cover up a horribly-botched English accent. Dan and friends then went on to watch "Magnolia" in this same movie-watching session, which was not only one of the worst pieces of shit Dan had ever seen in his entire life, but also included another histrionic, out-of-step performance from Julianne Moore, who basically was becoming more and more and more punchable by the second. At that moment, Ms. Moore went on the hated list. Her position was cememtned when Dan and wife were dragged against their will to see "The Hours", a movie so heinously awful and misguided that it almost made Dan hate Toni Collette. That movie elevated Julianne Moore to the position of "most loathsome actress in Hollywood who really can't act for shit yet somehow keeps getting work, probably because she is easy to work with and/or she has mob connections".

THE END

PS: "I <3 Huckabees" is DA BOMB

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:16 (eighteen years ago)

"I <3 Huckabees" is DA BOMB

lol

also, Dan, the list of JM movies from the other thread was her "fuk u I MAKE SHIT MOVIES" list COME ON

David R., Friday, 15 June 2007 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

yeah her part in The Big Lebowski is the worst part of an amazing movie, but yeah she sucks in it.

Mr. Que, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

You guys have all seen the clip of Lily Tomlin and the director screaming obscenties at each other on set, right????

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

man do you guys ever remember the beat poetry part in tank girl

that movie was amazing

TOMBOT, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:20 (eighteen years ago)

i think she's just fine in big lebowski

gff, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:20 (eighteen years ago)

has anyone watched the extras on the dvd? the weird interview tomlin and hoffman's characters conduct with robert thurman????

xpost tank fucking girl? srsly?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:21 (eighteen years ago)

it should now me mentioned that marky mark is a far superior actor to any of these polled so far

yeah dan that all makes sense but what abt safe, boogie nights etc

jhøshea, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:21 (eighteen years ago)

After my experiences, I have spent most of the intervening years avoiding films that feature Julianne Moore. Ergo, I haven't seen "Safe", "Boogie Nights", etc. (Did see "Children of Men", though, which was great.)

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:23 (eighteen years ago)

you and julianne just got off on the wrong foot is all, lets try to patch thing up ok.

jhøshea, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:24 (eighteen years ago)

marky mark is basically the best actor who ever existed.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

NEW POLL :D

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

jhøshea, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

OMG I was about to vote Mulholland until Tombot reminded me of the sheer fucking genius of Tank Girl. I luv that movie.

milo z, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

(Did see "Children of Men", though, which was great.)

Well, yeah, Julianne Moore got popped.

milo z, Friday, 15 June 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

EXACTLY

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

IS KATE WINSLET NOT A CLASSY LADY?

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

Interesting to see how many votes the films yet to be released receive.

SeekAltRoute, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

Wtf, there's a remake of Funny Games coming? Who the hell saw a point in remaking that?

I think it's an American version, ne c'est pas?

jaymc, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

Also, Naomi Watts is totally cute.

jaymc, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Friday, 15 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

her post-Lynch career has disappointed me (le divorce was a flaming mound o'shit), but her perfomance in Mulholland Drive is easily one of the best performances by an actress in the last 20 or so years. and she is cute too.

bobby bedelia, Saturday, 16 June 2007 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

M Dr.

marmotwolof, Saturday, 16 June 2007 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering (1996)

I have this on a VHS tape. It was only a dollar, and it features this great scene where a guy gets split into two pieces by a rolling stretcher.

Naomi's Ring > the original.

DavidM, Saturday, 16 June 2007 09:26 (eighteen years ago)

Wah? Altho I didn't really *understand* The Ring (the orig.) I would never call the remake better than the original.

nathalie, Saturday, 16 June 2007 09:44 (eighteen years ago)

ok so i had no idea she was a voice in babe: pig in the city. noami watts was in babe: pig in the city, and that, imo, is the clincher.

strgn, Saturday, 16 June 2007 10:25 (eighteen years ago)

her perfomance in Mulholland Drive is easily one of the best performances by an actress in the last 20 or so years.

8080 my favorite since gena rowlands in woman under the influence which is pretty much my favorite so there

jhøshea, Saturday, 16 June 2007 13:07 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Saturday, 16 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Mulholland Drive in win shockah.

SeekAltRoute, Sunday, 17 June 2007 09:09 (eighteen years ago)

Yay, someone else vote for Tank Girl! That's an underrated film, besides Watts and Lori Petty (superhot!) there's Ice-T as a kangaroo and Malcolm McDowell as a bad guy as a bad guy who dodges bullets in the most ridivulous way imaginable (won't spoil it).
