strongohulkington, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:36 (eighteen years ago)

this poll reeks of desperation

Mr. Que, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

my platform runs on a plan of a return to simpler, greenspun-era values

strongohulkington, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

Mammal Study

^^^ should be Mammary Study amirite

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

insect study, mammal study, cit. in the world, rifle shooting and wilderness survival were the ones i remember being awesomest. orienteering and cit. in the community sucked it hard.

pretzel walrus, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

LIFESAVING IS FOR SUCKS

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:43 (eighteen years ago)

Oh God, Citizenship in the World is basically the entire reason why I decided I would never be an Eagle scout.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

whoops, i meant nation! nation was cool, world was not so cool.

pretzel walrus, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

Community sucked too but at least you could do it in like an afternoon.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 18:46 (eighteen years ago)

I would be very interested in what the average den master would have to say about this subject!

The Macallan 18 Year, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

This is maybe the biggest pile of cock I have ever read.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

no no the miming thing is totally awesome

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

3. Do THREE of the following:
a. Act a major part in a full-length play; or act a part in three one-act plays.
b. Direct a play. Cast, rehearse, and stage it. The play must be at least 10 minutes long.
c. Design the set for a play or a production of a circus. Make a model of it.
d. Design the costumes for five characters in one play set in a time before 1900.
e. Show skill in stage makeup. Make up yourself or a friend as an old man, a clown, an extraterrestrial, or a monster as directed.
f. Help with the building of scenery for one full-length play or two one-act plays.
g. Design the lighting for a play; or, under guidance, handle the lighting for a play.

(xp: yes the miming thing is awesome but the rest seems to have been written by someone who has no conception of how things actually work within the theatre)
OH OKAY I WILL GET RIGHT ON THIS

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

shotgun shooting just barely beat out nuclear science

El Tomboto, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

it's really not that hard to design a circus, dan, come on.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

I got to Obtain a sample of irradiated and non-irradiated foods in the nuclear science one and had to stop reading because I lost my shit.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

boy scouts wuz nutz

lfam, Friday, 15 June 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

i do not recommend it for your children

lfam, Friday, 15 June 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

ps correct answer is "Wilderness Survival" because you actually have to build a shelter for the night and then there is a tropical storm and the men are separated from the boys like whoa. i stayed mostly dry.

u shoulda seen the dude who sat cross legged in a clearing and had us build a ziggurat of towels covering his entire body. i thought that having us do it for him was kinda cheating but i knew it would be worth it in the morning and it was.

(srsly, wtf with the catalog nonsense????)

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

Back in Britain, WHERE SCOUTING ACTUALLY FUCKING CAME FROM, less than 10% of those badges exist.

At which point I hand the poll back to Merkins.

aldo, Friday, 15 June 2007 21:12 (eighteen years ago)

60% of these badges didn't exist in the US 20 years ago, either. People be making shit up for their kids, I guess.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

20 years ago there were a lot of badges that no longer exist (animal husbandry? all sorts of agricultural badges?). it changes with the times.

lfam, Friday, 15 June 2007 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Friday, 15 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

This still kicks the ass of Girl Scouts. Activity-wise, not politically.

Abbott, Saturday, 16 June 2007 01:04 (eighteen years ago)

Boy Scouts can fucking die (the organnization); they're just puppets of Mormon Church now.
