is calling someone "fucking retarded" an appropriate response to getting turned down for a date? Furthermore, do you think it might subtley persuade him or her to consider you further?

emilys., Sunday, 17 June 2007 10:49 (eighteen years ago)

This is why I'm still on a prolonged sabbatical from dating, with no intention to end it yet.

Bob Six, Sunday, 17 June 2007 11:04 (eighteen years ago)

because someone called you a retard for not dating them?

emilys., Sunday, 17 June 2007 11:21 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to see emily's exchange being worked into a film script.

Alba, Sunday, 17 June 2007 11:29 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sort of proud of it

I said, "we should go on a date (don't worry, to me that could involve as little as drinking beer and watching tv and totally not fooling around or anything"

and he said, "well, I don't think that's such a good idea because I am becoming involved with someone else...you're really cool though, I guess just bad timing"

and I said, "Well, I think it's a great idea and I think you're fucking retarded."

emilys., Sunday, 17 June 2007 12:06 (eighteen years ago)

...unfortunately it got much worse

emilys., Sunday, 17 June 2007 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, I had assumed it was him calling you retarded.

Alba, Sunday, 17 June 2007 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

more details! what was his next response?

Rubyred, Sunday, 17 June 2007 12:23 (eighteen years ago)

People always stop telling stories before the really good parts.

Rock Hardy, Sunday, 17 June 2007 13:22 (eighteen years ago)

fuckers.

Rubyred, Sunday, 17 June 2007 13:32 (eighteen years ago)

i guess it depends on whether it was a matey thing or if it was delivered with honest venom.

darraghmac, Sunday, 17 June 2007 13:36 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, did you include the obligatory but not completely honest winky face? I often wonder if there people who adopt smileys in real life.

nathalie, Sunday, 17 June 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

totally not fooling around or anything"

See, you sent out the wrong message here. Shoulda been "I put out."

milo z, Sunday, 17 June 2007 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, he already knows I put out. :0/

emilys., Monday, 18 June 2007 06:49 (eighteen years ago)

here's where I become less awesome:

"I'm just not buying this Someone Else thing, because if that was really so important to you, you wouldn't have followed me up the steps and kissed me back. I just want to know what's so scary/unappealing about me.

...besides the fact that I am writing you crazy emails at 8:00 in the morning"

emilys., Monday, 18 June 2007 06:51 (eighteen years ago)

to which he replied:

"you came at me and kissed me i didnt even try anything with you and i dont want this to be an issue i really am talking to someone else there is nothing wrong with you i just like someone else"

emilys., Monday, 18 June 2007 06:54 (eighteen years ago)

UGH RUN A MILE GUYS LIKE THIS WILL KEEP DOING IT TO YOU TRUST ME ON THIS.

Trayce, Monday, 18 June 2007 07:28 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry. I'm a tad bitter at the moment. I need to go get drunk or something.

Trayce, Monday, 18 June 2007 07:28 (eighteen years ago)

I don't really think you can win him over, Emily. Sorry.

Tuomas, Monday, 18 June 2007 07:30 (eighteen years ago)

"you came at me and kissed me i didnt even try anything with you"

He didn't push you away either, so he's guilty anyway. I mean, did he kiss you on the cheeks or *slamdunked* a tongue inside?

Also, don't listen to Tuomas.

nathalie, Monday, 18 June 2007 07:31 (eighteen years ago)

guys like this will keep doing what exactly trayce?? leaving their mouths perilously exposed?

Tracer Hand, Monday, 18 June 2007 08:59 (eighteen years ago)

No not that... what he said. Don't mind me, I'm not the best person to advise on this stuff right now heh.

Trayce, Monday, 18 June 2007 09:19 (eighteen years ago)

did he say something bad? emily.s appears to be going out of her way to portray him as being extremely reasonable!

Tracer Hand, Monday, 18 June 2007 09:21 (eighteen years ago)

I dunno about you, but if someone tells me he's "becoming involved with someone else", I take it as a sign that it's not worth the trouble, even if I had kissed him. But maybe I'm just an easy quitter?

Tuomas, Monday, 18 June 2007 09:32 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not saying hes being unreasonable! Argh never mind.

Trayce, Monday, 18 June 2007 09:54 (eighteen years ago)

ok sorry!

Tracer Hand, Monday, 18 June 2007 09:57 (eighteen years ago)

energy flash gordon, Monday, 18 June 2007 12:40 (eighteen years ago)

If you have to ask that question, you're not....

Lee626, Saturday, 8 October 2011 02:04 (fourteen years ago)

How can you tell if you're really in love?

A square portal, through which Ted Danson is visible, will appear over your left shoulder.

How Can I Tell If I'm Really In Love With My Sibling?

Soccupy ILX (buzza), Saturday, 8 October 2011 02:12 (fourteen years ago)

How have I never watched this? I watched every episode of It's Your Move, this was clearly an oversight on my part.
