HEY HEY HEY! (that's my answer, y'all can figure it out)

Eisbaer, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 08:03 (eighteen years ago)

Notorious BIG said it best: "Either you're slingin' crack rock, or you've got a wicked jump-shot." Nobody wants to work for it anymore. There's no honor in taking that after school job at Mickey D's, honor's in the dollar, kid. So I went the white boy way of slinging crack-rock: I became a stock broker.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 08:11 (eighteen years ago)

If I'm not mistaken Katie has remained catholic.

nathalie, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 08:12 (eighteen years ago)

Eisbaer, Krusty the clown ?

My vote, I went for the long shot as i have interest in any of these people

Ste, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 09:10 (eighteen years ago)

'no interest' dammit

Ste, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 09:11 (eighteen years ago)

Chick Corea!

Tuomas, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 10:25 (eighteen years ago)

Jenna Elfman is the wackiest. Well, saw an "interview" with her. She was mental. Completely off her rocker. I like how Scientologists defend themselves.

nathalie, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 10:27 (eighteen years ago)

As a boy named Doug growing up in the 80s, there's only one way I can go with this.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 10:44 (eighteen years ago)

No option for "fuck 'em all, weirdos" no credibility.

Pashmina, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 10:55 (eighteen years ago)

I like that other guy in My Name is Earl, Ethan Stucklee? I gather he's one too.

Ned Trifle II, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:18 (eighteen years ago)

nathalie, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:39 (eighteen years ago)

but why?

sunny successor, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:41 (eighteen years ago)

The term "clam", a pejorative slang term for Scientologists, is derived from a passage in L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology: A History of Man. In this passage, Hubbard asserts humans follow his notion of the "genetic line" of the "genetic entity", which include clams (as well as sloths, volcanoes, and a "sense of being eaten"), and certain human psychological problems descend from difficulties these clams experienced.

StanM, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:46 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not sure whats behind the clam thing, I just have friends who are anti $ activists, and thats what they say. www.xenu.net etc.

Trayce, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:48 (eighteen years ago)

Oh well or what Stan just said, heh.

scientologist hate really makes me want to defend them.

sunny successor, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:50 (eighteen years ago)

whenever I hear about a sleb being into this, and i didn't know, it's always a little heartbreaking, even if i was never a 'fan' of them really.

sunny successor, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:53 (eighteen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:54 (eighteen years ago)

John Travolta?! NOOOOOOOO!

latebloomer, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:58 (eighteen years ago)

OK srsly if D Elfman was an clam I'd give up.

Trayce, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:00 (eighteen years ago)

Had to go with "eat my shorts" girl b/c my wife taught/coached her briefly.

Rock Hardy, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:02 (eighteen years ago)

I'm voting for who I was most disappointed to find out was a friend of Xenu, and Erika Christensen would be total wifey material if not for that.

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)

jason lee

haha. big surprise.

can someone lock down the forest whitaker question?

gabbneb, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:21 (eighteen years ago)

why? pretty much everyone on the list is obviously a weirdo.

gabbneb, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:29 (eighteen years ago)

Ralph Malph in "Happy Days"

Tom D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 14:51 (eighteen years ago)

does Futurama count as a "sitcom"

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 21 June 2007 14:53 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think I'll include cartoons. Honestly I was thinking only females but it seemed wrong to exclude Bonaduce.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

I'd be down with the Bhai thing.

Bill Magill, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't noticed any bad acting, but then again I don't have my "good acting/bad acting" checklist handy when I watch That '70s Show

look, I dont demand Meryl Streep's Versatility or something, but haven't you noticed something even beyond the stilted, one-note badness that usually accompanies sitcoms? A kind-of almost FEAR in her eyes when she speaks her lines?

kenan, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:31 (eighteen years ago)

wrong again

sunny successor, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

whitaker? anyone? what was tad's post about?

Hollywood, like the Britishes, is biased against gingers

pls don't let that - term - cross the pond

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

guys GUYS, can we focus on finding this Scientology music video featuring Isaac Hayes And His Sexy Harem Of Sitcom Actresses?

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

gabbneb have you not seen South Park's Cartman-ginger-nazis episode

I cahn't imahgine what would give you the impression that I would ever deign to watch South Park

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:08 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry to keep spamming this thread, I'm gonna post once more to clarify my position and then let this drop because I'm worried kenan's gonna think I like some bad actress for her big boobs or something (which I don't, I don't think she's v. attractive personally): compared to the rest of the T7S cast LP isn't a very good actress, that's true, but the character she plays is low-key enough that it's not a huge deal; I just like Donna compared to, say, the perpetual irritatingness of Jackie & Fez. And as I said on the other thread she's a good foil to Eric's insecurity. I don't like T7S after the first season or two, after that it goes to shit.

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

ok ok. I think you're fantastic.

The B'hai temple is amazingly beautiful, and you can see it out of my gf's window from 4 miles away. On a sunny day in the spring... wow.

kenan, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

I just like Donna compared to, say, the perpetual irritatingness of Jackie & Fez

:(

jackie is my hero

sunny successor, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

I can't please anybody around here ;_;

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

Fez isn't especially annoying. Jackie is v v annoying.

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

Jackie is annoying the first couple of seasons, but then she becomes a sympathetic character.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 21 June 2007 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

that's when she becomes the most annoying though!!! I liked her better as a self-absorbed brat than a self-absorbed brat with feelings

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 21 June 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

Hopefully Bell will renounce Scientology when she gets the word she swept this poll.

Bill Magill, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

Or she'll take it as a mandate that her Scientology has been endorsed.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha i see this has been done already: http://www.askmen.com/women/votes_300/302_scientology_sensations.html

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

On Catherine Bell:

"One of the hottest Scientologists this side of L. Ron Hubbard..."

L. Ron Hubbard was hot? This makes no sense.

Will M., Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:53 (eighteen years ago)

Fair point, Alex.

Does anything having to do with Scientology make sense?

Bill Magill, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

haha yeah that line was real WTF. shoulda been something like "Hotter than the volcano where Xenu murdered all those Thetans"

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

Marisol Nichols got a much bigger role in "In Justice"

Heave Ho, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)

Bell's pictures on that askmen.com are smokin

Bill Magill, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:15 (eighteen years ago)

when do we get to do a poll on celebrity christians, call them weirdos and say how our lives were ruined when we found out they were god lovers?

sunny successor, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:12 (eighteen years ago)

Kirk Cameron would win

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

why bother, we all know Mel Gibson would win

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

though I basically agree with sunny - there's a level of fear/anger generated by Scientologist celebs that's just bizarre. They're a cult, ok, they believe wacky shit, ok - but why do other people care?

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:14 (eighteen years ago)

well how could anyone overlook how similar Xtianity and Scientology, what with both being founded by failed sci-fi writers/convicted felons/tax-evaders amirite.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

arrrgh "how similar Xtianity and Scientology ARE"

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

The Church of Latter-Day Saints has such a long and storied past, and no oddball shenanigans in its history.

(also: transubstantiation, snake-handling evangelicals, heaven, hell, demons, spirits, etc. - not, in truth, that much stranger than Xenu)

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:19 (eighteen years ago)

fwiw personally my views on the Mormon church are well documented on ILX and bear some similarity to my views on Scientology

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

The Church of Latter-Day Saints has such a long and storied past, and no oddball shenanigans in its history.

You're kidding, right?

Mr. Que, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:23 (eighteen years ago)

I believe that's what the kids call "sarcasm"

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:24 (eighteen years ago)

Scientology Cat is Scientological

KitCat, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:27 (eighteen years ago)

Let's not forget the future coming of the Messiah to Springfield, Mo. I should get a real estate liscence there if the Mormons are right.

Bill Magill, Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

They're a cult, ok, they believe wacky shit, ok - but why do other people care?

I suppose it could be the getting celebrities to pay $$$$$$$$$$ to reach their highest levels, and therefore funding all the lower-level crap which sometimes involves abusing their adherents to death, but I could be wrong.

Phil D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

I said a while ago that Greta Van Susteren was the least loathesome Fox News host. I wish to withdraw this statement.

Jeez, What's up with Scientology & the cast of My Name is Earl? I thought that show dealt in Buddhist doctrines, which I now realize must be code for Thetans. Very very sneaky..

Pillbox, Tuesday, 21 October 2008 21:11 (seventeen years ago)

on the upside James Packer (was Australia's richest man) has apparently left
