Wasn't he in a band with some members of SFA as well?

Human Nature vs Rancid Aluminium. Turn of the century British film was AWESOME.

Dom Passantino, Monday, 2 July 2007 08:20 (eighteen years ago)

Despite all those shit films, I kinda love Rhys whatever he's in. He always looks like he's doing it for the money.

Noodle Vague, Monday, 2 July 2007 08:33 (eighteen years ago)

Enduring Love is good tho, so not in the spirit of this thread.

Noodle Vague, Monday, 2 July 2007 08:34 (eighteen years ago)

twin town fucking rules

emsk, Monday, 2 July 2007 08:50 (eighteen years ago)

his Peter Cook renders every other character he's played totally irrelevant

electricsound, Monday, 2 July 2007 09:33 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for Peter Cook in the end but I don't really like that movie. "Famous people are sometimes nasty in real life" is a shitty genre.

Noodle Vague, Monday, 2 July 2007 09:47 (eighteen years ago)

Noodle otm on all counts here.

Enduring Love was good.

jed_, Monday, 2 July 2007 10:19 (eighteen years ago)

has a better ending than the book.

jed_, Monday, 2 July 2007 10:19 (eighteen years ago)

Yeh, I liked Enduring Love too.

I think you may be confusing Nature and Traffic.

I quite liked Notting Hill.

Rhys Ifans was in 'Garfield' - WTF?

The SFA-related band he was in was, um, SFA in their very early incarnation, I think, and he is something to do with The Peth which is the drummer's band

Him leaving an answerphone message is sampled on "Long Gone" on Fuzzy Logic, isn't it?

Another vote for Twin Town , which is great.

John Justen, Monday, 2 July 2007 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

xxpost

That movie dwells way more on "was a shitbag to wives, Dudley Moore" - that and being a total dude not being mutually exclusive - than on his actual work. I'm not crazy about biopics in general I guess.

*checks* Sure is, his picture's on the inside of the booklet and all.

Leaving an answerphone message whilst tripping off his tits. That puts his whole career in context for me.
