London Indie Two

Hi chaps, apologies to those in Zone 7++. Remember LondonIndieNYC? Well at the time we promised to do another one of these nights in about six months time. As the original list apparently got deleted, I've created London Indie Two for people to discuss and plan the next event. Like before, proceeds will go to charity and hopefully we'll get a STONKER hem hem of a night going as well. You can join by going to the above URL or mailing londonindietwo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (don't trust myself with those pesky mailto:'s).

To those who aren't sure what I'm on about - the original plan was to have a club night provoked by the events of Sept 11th. So we did! We got together several DJs from different club nights round London, booked the Betsey, got sponsorship and donated our ££ to the international red cross. If you're interested in getting involved this time, DJing, lending equipment, making flyers etc etc, please join! Cheers!

I've invited quite a few of you lot anyway but I'm aware I don't have everyones email address who got involved last time so pass this on to anyone else you know who might want to join in.

Yes, LondonIndieNYC, which went on to do LondonIndieUSA, was maliciously deleted by someone at the weekend. Strange Fruit's mailing list was deleted as well, so if you'd like to resubscribe to that please visit www.strange-fruit.co.uk

But anyway, LondonIndieUSA made approximately £2000 for the Red Cross, and we're *still* getting money in to this day! So it's a damn good idea to take part, and if you have any money you'd like to donate to LondonIndieUSA please remember the final deadline is tomorrow. If you owe cash, I've e-mailed you, so don't worry...

The best bet is to do the same thing as last time. Pick a date, book a venue, and then start organising. You enforce a deadline on yourself then, see, and so you can't be lazy no matter what.

Paul Strange, Wednesday, 27 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've done it Katie! And I've already posted to the list with venue suggestions, etc. I've not got much experience of actually booking places and the practicalities but I'm willing to learn... anyway we'll get onto this on the mailing list itself I guess... I put forwards the Amnesty International thing, but no-ones replied yet...

I can help out with bookings, gear, and that sort of thing, so write me if you need me. I'm on LI2 as well, but can't check it all the time from work.

Don't forget that the bank account for London Indie is still alive and well, with its monthly statements and its chequebook and pen. Well, no pen, but I was thinking Blankety Blank.

There's basically a lot less to be done to have a top night, which is good.
