i am going to like 15 movies. this is roughly equal to the number of movies i have seen in theatres total in the past two years or so. (i blame this on the fact that the only movies i really like these days are horror, or asian, or asian horror).

i am in the middle of fantasia hell

s1ocki, Thursday, 5 July 2007 19:50 (eighteen years ago)

so... many... screeners... to watch

s1ocki, Thursday, 5 July 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

I can't say I feel bad for you, I would love to be able to see these movies for free... at the moment I am looking at dropping about 100 bux on the festival :(

sorry didn't mean to be whiney about it!

best one i've seen so far: A BLOODY ARIA. don't miss that, esp if you liked old boy / mr. vengeance

s1ocki, Monday, 9 July 2007 20:33 (eighteen years ago)

really? nice. i am buying a 10-pack of tickets tonight... but I'll have to bump something to see that one, I reckon. Argh, except the times are kind of harsh... I don't know if I'll be able to see it! :(

Will M., Monday, 9 July 2007 20:53 (eighteen years ago)

did you guys catch the signal last friday? i thought it was fantastic, in the most horrifying way possible. three interconnected stories by three different filmmakers, each more brutal and splintered than the next. it's screening again on the 13th - definitely worth catching, and my best of the fest so far...

shameless plug: my cronies and i are djing between films, so show up early and catch some good music as well...

on that note, will, i might be able to hook you up with a free ticket or two...

i was so-so on the signal. liked the first act, wasn't so into the next two.

s1ocki, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

i can barely deal with fantasia
i know i should go see stuff but then i get paralyzed by too much choice
also i don't think i can deal with 'brutal' these days :/

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

btw slocki watched "the taste of tea" teh other night - it is so good! i loved it so much

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, btw, slocki, i watched, etc...

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

i agree, s1ocki, the first segment was definitely the strongest, and i would have enjoyed a more solid ending... still, some of the best i've seen so far. weakest film thus far: the banquet. jaw droppingly beautiful, but after the first hour, i got extremely tired of it... i can only watch hamlet so many times. dasepo naughty girls wasn't nearly naughty enough, and had a seemingly randomized plot.

tonight i'm going to exte: hair extensions and right at your door, and i'm looking forward to the tripper tomorrow night.

anhell*ca, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

don't miss bloody aria!

rrrobyn i'm glad you watched t o t!! now check out funky forest: the first contact

s1ocki, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

the music between films has been surprisingly solid! i was wondering who was responsible for it.

i saw assmonster, exte: hair extensions, and right at your door today. right at your door was SO GOOD. the other movies were good, but wow, right at yr door was so... SO good.

i'm seeing the signal on the 13th. i can't see bloody aria though-- the times are just impossible for me :( i will have to catch it on dvd, or watch parc for a later showing. what other movies are you going to?

Will M., Wednesday, 11 July 2007 05:43 (eighteen years ago)

i must be the only person that really didn't like right at your door. REALLY didn't like it. i might even go so far as to say that i outright hated it. so much potential, and yet... i did enjoy 'exte' tho'.

i will probably be checking out 'bloody aria' on thursday night, along with 'ghosts of cite soleil'. i was hoping to see dj xl5's presentation on friday, since some of my friends will be appearing in it, but i'm djing 'end of the line' and 'the fox family', so no dice. i'll be sticking around for the late night screening of 'the rage' as well. saturday it's '13 beloved', 'mulberry street' and 'poultrygeist'.

man, the fantasia bubble. i live there all week, and then on sunday i rest. that's why i missed 'viva' last week and will likely miss 'the backwoods' this sunday as well.

anhell*ca, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

oh, and thanks for the compliment! it's so much fun for us, we love doing it.

anhell*ca, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

cool! i am also going to go to 13 beloved and mulberry st on saturday... i'll try and give a word of thanks to all of those djing, wherever they are (i assume up near that cjlo sign i spotted on the way in).
