THE PYRAMIDS AT GIZA DROPPED OFF THE LIST?!!!!!!
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 8 July 2007 06:42 (nineteen years ago)
That's because they're on the old list, therefore don't have to be on the new list.
― ailsa, Sunday, 8 July 2007 07:20 (nineteen years ago)
There was a stink about that and they're "honorary" I guess? Because they're the only surviving old wondor. BOO on that list though.'
Seems like the winners are mainly from high population good for nothing countries with good internet access and lots of nationalism

I find Christ the Redeemer a little tacky. Chichen Itza and Machu Picchu are ok, but not in my top 7.
So I'd replace those 3 with:
Acropolis Angkor Wat I guess the statue of liberty?
― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Sunday, 8 July 2007 08:52 (nineteen years ago)
the problem is that they arent tacky enough. like my seven would include cowboy joe at vegas, nash's folly at brighton, the neon in shibuya, those postmodern space age offce towers in shanghai, and that bavarian castle
― pinkmoose, Sunday, 8 July 2007 09:05 (nineteen years ago)
two more for the seven: disneyland and neiymeyers designs for sao paulo
― pinkmoose, Sunday, 8 July 2007 09:06 (nineteen years ago)
apparently the first list was a gimmick for tourists but still I think a "wonder of the world" should be undeniable enough that it could not lose in a silly popularity context. if there is not enough around of them to make a top 7 list then people should just wait a couple of more hundred years .

The eyes roll constantly, thus ensuring its inclusion in any list of 7.

I didn't vote for Machu Picchu because it's threatened by attention. Only winners I picked were Petra and the Great Wall. National Geographic's wonders of a few years ago:
Acropolis Angkor Cyberspace Giza Pyramids Great Wall Machu Picchu Mesa Verde Petra Taj Mahal Vatican City
