CF: IMAGE LIMITATIONS

and since I Must Protest is the least frequented board...

I think the current limitations shrink large images down to somewhere around 700x700? (just a guess.)* And we are currently only allowed three images per post.

*May not happen if you are on an older browser.

u mean the current ones or the ones i posted at the start of the thread?

gr8080, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 07:56 (eighteen years ago)

i.e. 1500x1500 and 10 per post?

gr8080, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 07:57 (eighteen years ago)

i don't care if they don't up the size (though it does kind of suck if you're trying to link to a graph or detailed chart/image or something), but the limit to 3 is completely unreasonable. there are a LOT of reasons besides img flooding why one would be posting more than 3 pictures at a time (for example you're posting pix from an event!). so arbitrary, it seems like 10 or so would be a lot more reasonable of a limit if we HAVE to have limits.

THIS IS ILX NOT THE SCIENCE FAIR.

gr8080, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 19:06 (eighteen years ago)

yeah santorum.jpg is one of the detailed charts i was thinking of! other things that just go to shit when you repost them here: tombot's network chart, the cheddar beer boobs harrison ford thing, 80% of graphs, hilarious comic strips that are vertical instead of horizontal

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 11 July 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

the thing is that i don't even really understand not putting a pretty large limit on img size i suppose because it's not BLOCKING huge images from appearing (ie saving pplz bandwith and lagtimes) but just resizing them, so why bother, i guess? besides stopping (someone) from posting like a 3 million x 3 million image or something.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 11 July 2007 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

limits on image size diminish the scott seward experience.

gr8080, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

1500x1500 and 10 per post

no limits aka roam free scott seward

I picked this. People can use CSS to limit image size if they want to!!!

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Thursday, 12 July 2007 21:19 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, somebody should seriously post an EASILY OFFENDED stylesheet!

1) images all 300 x 300 or smaller
2) expletives replaced with !$@#%?
3) ..?

remy bean, Thursday, 12 July 2007 21:28 (eighteen years ago)

3) replaces all Dom P posts with pictures of Nathalie's daughter.

gr8080 you're only fucking yourself

blueski, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:32 (eighteen years ago)

Uh, math here says that only 34% of respondents support no change to the image limitations. The problem is that the vote for changes was split between 4 options, but still has close to a 2/3 majority.

In other words, statistics are a pain in the ass, but this poll actually shows that a majority of those who voted support changing the image limitations.

John Justen, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:53 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i was thinking that while walking back from lunch just now.

poll should only have two options:

1. keep limits
2. no limits

OR

1. keep limits
2. new limits (10 per post 1500 x 1500)

THIS IS WHY THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM WORKS PPL.

gr8080, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:58 (eighteen years ago)

is this the first poll anyone's taken seriously? like seriously enough to bring out the 'stats' argument?

p.s. no limits

rrrobyn, Friday, 13 July 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

jergins became IRE mod via polling.

gr8080, Friday, 13 July 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

neat

rrrobyn, Friday, 13 July 2007 00:25 (eighteen years ago)

Just so you know, any rules you might stipulate would apply to normal mortals, but scott seward is a man unto himself, an alien, a man without a country, he knows no bounds, and rules would just bounce off him like teflon. just warning you (like i did my family when they met him).

Maria :D, Friday, 13 July 2007 02:47 (eighteen years ago)

We really need instant run-off polling!
