Because Ally was all like "you should leave Ferris Bueller, Secret of NIMH, etc. out." So no Cat Stevens-luvvins-flooding allowed, sorr-ree.

He sure used to be k-hott until he turned into a hideous imp.

ALSO, if anyone could get me a copy of Brewster McCloud, I'd love them forever.

Abbott, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

I'm mainly starting these threads in a desperate ploy to get OOP '70s movies. It's Altman, you'd THINK they'd put it on DVD.

Abbott, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

lock thread

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:28 (eighteen years ago)

He's OK in Heat (as was Tone Loc re: rappers as actors).

Eazy, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:30 (eighteen years ago)

SON OF HITLER guys, come on.

Abbott, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

No Electric Dreams no credibility

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

how could it be anything but Brewster

Milton Parker, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

who was he in But I'm a Cheerleader?

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea, some pudgy imp? I've never seen it.

Abbott, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

wait he was her dad I think. I don't even remember that.

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:37 (eighteen years ago)

(see it, it's practically an 80s John Waters tribute. I saw it in the middle of the day and the only other people in the theater were an elderly couple who I assume just go and see whatever's starting next, haha)

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

I think the important thing to remember here is that floppy-haired, doe-eyed indie boys will invariably turn into hideous imps.

will, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

he's also in Heat, as the Tracey Walters-looking greasey spoon boss.

kingfish, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

But I'm a Cheerleader was may more didactic and plodding and unfunny than anything John Waters' has ever been involved in

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:24 (eighteen years ago)

but yes I see can see the "tribute" angle - it just isn't a very good one

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:25 (eighteen years ago)

man I'd completely forgotten about him in M*A*S*H.

will, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

x-post
aw it's worth seeing once just for Ru Paul

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

He was the computer voice in "Electric Dreams"

kingfish, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 22:55 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

yep and he kept calling that dude Moles because of a typo.

Miles was the agoraphobic from Twin Peaks!

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 11 July 2007 23:02 (eighteen years ago)

Wait, where is DOGMA? He played a skeeball-playing God! In a coma! Who turns into Alanis Morrissette!

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 21:58 (eighteen years ago)

Brewster McCloud, srsly guys, I've been checking every pawn shop VHS section for years and NOTHING. (Though I did find a copy of "The Love God?" today.)

Someone can help me out?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

Or at least a link some snarky trade forum where someone can be pried into helping me?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

bud cort has the sexiest voice ever

anyway abbott i think you and i have the same taste in dudes. i used to watch harold and maude like every other day one summer in 2001 and i was hell bent on getting every cort movie on VHS. i got to like three and then my obsession transferred to someone else.

homosexual II, Thursday, 12 July 2007 22:54 (eighteen years ago)

who wuzzat then?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 22:56 (eighteen years ago)

I finally saw Brewster McCloud when Turner Classics(i think) screened it on some sunday night years ago.

kingfish, Thursday, 12 July 2007 22:59 (eighteen years ago)

there's a Brewster tape on Ebay right now that hasn't got ridiculously expensive yet. Auction ends in a couple of days.

C. Grisso/McCain, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:00 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH I am so jealous of you kingfish!

And I hate ebay and I'm sure its lil Brewster offering will be $25+ when all is said and done. WORLD.

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Seven! SEVEN! of you have seen it!

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Not only have I seen it on video, I've seen in twice in a rep theatre located only a few miles from many of the shooting locations.

C. Grisso/McCain, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

YOU TEASE ME & MAKE ME COMMIT A SEVEN DEADLY SIN. And I was doing like two already. Well, three, if you count the early Cort lust.

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

Then I better not start on about my memorabilia collection...

C. Grisso/McCain, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

Your BREWSTER memorabilia collection? Or like all the Felix the Cat cookie jars you've collected over the years?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

i think after that my lust transferred to tom courtenay

homosexual II, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

should be on torrent somewhere

kingfish, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

Your BREWSTER memorabilia collection?

Uh, yeah. I've got some press stuff, a couple of B&W stills, a set of ad slicks, and a set of lobby cards. Kinda went nuts there. Maybe it's a Houston thing. I digitized a copy of a press release and sent it to the aforementioned rep theatre (our MFA) and they used it for a handout.

C. Grisso/McCain, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:11 (eighteen years ago)

WHY GOD WHYYYYYY?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 July 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)
