How have you wasted time today?
It's only 10 here but so far I have:
-Searched for Nymphadora Tonks wallpaper -read blogs -checked Facebook, twice -F5ed Site New Answers endlessly -tried to get hair appointment -changed Sirius stations nearly every other song after checking the "What's Playing Station" -made some popcorn
I have to finish an app before my boss returns from vacation on Monday. It's not looking good.

― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

― blueski, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

I'm waiting for the next phase of testing to be imported. Until then, I got squat to do except smurf the webbernuts.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)
ate BEC on begal and stared at phone contemplating the 27 voice mails that are waiting to be listened to
― carne asada, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:34 (eighteen years ago)
Stared at the clock a lot until someone gave me some work to do. Am back to staring at the clock with only about 20mins left to go. Staring at that damn clock sure seems to make time go slower ;_;
― Jibe, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:38 (eighteen years ago)
Spent far too long in the pub at lunchtime. Listened to dodgy hardcore music. ILX. I only half an hour to go woo!
― Colonel Poo, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:39 (eighteen years ago)
Refreshed a Tour de France web page trying to guess, each time, how much of a lead B. Wiggins has.
― Jibe, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)
Sounds very Office Space.
I wish I could go to the pub at lunch. :(
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)
I just might do that! I've actually manged to steer clear of ilx for an hour and a half. I did work this morning! woooaaah work!

Aren't you on campus? The Cactus should be open. Failing that, the Bark and Quack is quite close.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)
Yes we often go to the latter. Also to El Chile for margarita meetings.
I doubt I could persuade any of my co-workers to go though. We all actually have quite a bit of work today and I worry if I recommend skivving off for alcohol too frequently, they'll think I have a problem.
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)
I'm sticking stamps on letters I will put in the mail on my way out ... 3 more minutes and I'm out for a weekend of fun and watching parades.
― Jibe, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)
Black Parades?
(sorry My Chemical Romance on radio right now.)
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)
Har yes. Big error when the lead started increasing again.

Have you suggested having a meeting on the roof to blow a j?
(joekz)
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)
haha, I don't smoke. Although I'm sure some would be up for this.
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:57 (eighteen years ago)

xshock!
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Friday, 13 July 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)

I'm at home with the kids, but I took a nap while they watched tv. Now they are still watching tv - and here I am at my computer.
― Sara R-C, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)
What's sort of scary is that my life outside of work now is packed with important things that desperately need doing, but I am still duty-bound to appear at work and do nothing all day every day for the sake of getting paid.
― admrl, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, I can't imagine a worse place to get high than in an office with nothing to do and nowhere to go anyway.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)
OTM. Except I have tons to do and do some of it.
My building is next to Waller Creek so you could always go out and look at the critters.
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)
I like those blueish wading birds with the gold plumage on their heads.
I'm next to Waller Creek, too! But farther south, at 11th Street. At least until that job at CPS starts on the 23rd.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)
I love the word "critters"
― admrl, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:35 (eighteen years ago)
I just had to ask the intern for PHP help. I need to stop with the phoning in and get my head back in the game. :(
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 16:41 (eighteen years ago)
I got the old "your monitor faces the rest of the room and we've noticed..." spiel today. Fortunately it was a friendly rather than stern warning, since when I actually do some work I'm SUPER FAST and SHIT HOT, aw yeah.
― ledge, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)
I would like to get a mirror so I can see behind me but that seems just too obvious.
― Ms Misery, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)
Everyone in my old job had monitor mirrors apparently designed for the purpose.
― ledge, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)
The rearview mirror is a common computer accessory in every state office I've temped at in these last two years. I think people are more suspicious if you DON'T have one.
― Oilyrags, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:35 (eighteen years ago)
I totally did the Tour de France reload page thing too. Normally when I check it it's already done being live.
― freewheel, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:47 (eighteen years ago)
I made My this.
― schwantz, Friday, 13 July 2007 17:53 (eighteen years ago)
stupid cut and paste...
Awesome, I'd use that, and am
― robertwolf8080, Saturday, 14 July 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)
I don't understand Your that. :{
I rolled around on my bed & cried & walked my dog & watched The Bourne Identity and checked my bank account way too many times for no reason.
― Abbott, Saturday, 14 July 2007 03:28 (eighteen years ago)
i avoided selling shoes as much as possible; friended ned on facebook and chatted; talked to another friend on facebook (so much for my facebook hate); paid my membership to an author forum and also paid the fees for my friend in germany, who's birthday is tomorrow, and who i met on said forum; also fucked around with camera whilst customers were absent and took photos. hope i'm having a good hair day.
hoorays for the net. it makes my day go so much faster.

- Apple-R'd ILM New answers over and over and over and over - Watched dozens of YMO youtube videos - tried to get acquainted with Telex - Filled out change of address online form - gave some landlord hundreds of dollars - checked the mail - watched the 20/20 Hell episode and had the worst argument/discussion ever with girlfriend AKA the religion argument
― Z S, Saturday, 14 July 2007 03:51 (eighteen years ago)
oh no... like, totally opposing views? my friend's jewish, atheist brother just married a creationist. it must be love.
― Rubyred, Saturday, 14 July 2007 04:19 (eighteen years ago)
No, I'm an athiest and she's agnostic, so we're pretty much coming from similar places. It all started with a segment where some bishop started advocating the view that Hell is a manmade concept, and how his congregration largely left him, and so on. My girlfriend misunderstood part of the segment to say that the bishop also didn't believe in the Bible, and then we got into an argument on whether or not believing in the Bible is essential to being a Christian.
gawwwwwd
― Z S, Saturday, 14 July 2007 04:24 (eighteen years ago)
that sounds more like a healthy debate.
